What's your view on the chelsea headhunters? I watched the donal macintyre documentary yesterday and was shocked at some of the stories about some of them visiting auschwitz and sending a jew a postcard, it showed them doing the nazi salute in a pub in denmark in 1998 and with a northern ireland flag chanting 'UVF' at a parade to commorate bloody sunday but it was shocking that it was the late 90s when chelsea had so many foreigners playing for them, What was worse was in an episode of 'the real football factories' it showed jason marriner (i think) outside stamford bridge and young fans getting his autograph like he was some sort of hero. I think how donal macintyre and his wife were attacked recently in a bar shows what these men are like especially how he even told them that his wife had a brain tumor, even a female was joining in. I know most don't pay any attention to the hooligans these days and it's good to see irish supporters club banners at the bridge recently but it is shocking that some people, even someone i could be sitting beside in the next game i go to could have been involved in this racism and could still share their views,

I hate the Chelsea headhunters , they give us terrible name and in my eyes they are not fans of the club. Evil people who use football as a way of expressing their hatred for normal people. Holigans are a pathetic waste of space.

In the early days the proper Headhunters were a great bunch of true Blues..Hicky was a great , if you like, leader , and was given a worse character bashing than deserved..Many so called Headhunters were hell bent on a good job against oppo fans that ALSO WANTED IT..Too many false stories of the INNOCENT getting weighed into things..If one doesnt like the thought of chelsea fans involving themselves with sorting the oppo, then, obviously you must dislike em all and what they stood for..Nowadays, well i dont know really what the so called Headhunters really do as its not so free and easy as it once was...I remember one particular time at the Lane when the cops were after the so called orginisers and leaders of Headhunters of the time. The cops (plain clothes) obviously, intigrated into the chelsea mob of HH that were locked out of the y*dhouse and trying all ways to get in the ground which would have resulted in a major taking of the park lane end for sure.In the mellay of roaming round spudhouse a young plain clothes cop who was immediately behind mr H dropped his walky talky, which wasnt very nice...............

cool story bro

COOL story? really?? Could you explain which aspect of this you think is cool? If it is Curtis's horrified reaction, fair enough.

Mariner and his mates were a bunch of low life scum, nothing to do with Chelsea FC 2012.......European Champions.

I used to hang about with one of the top men in the Headhunters, we grew up supporting Chelsea and even from a young age were pretty well known where we lived at the time, I never got in to the Hooligan thing and we went our seperate ways after a bit of a fall out that I blamed him for but looking back it was pretty likely nothing to do with him.

Hes still a bit of a legend where he lives and although I moved away years ago, I still know a lot of people who know him down there and he hasn't quietened down too much by all accounts.

It is wierd growing up with someone and being in each others pockets but turning out so different in later life, all we ever did then was fight and play Football and it was fun at that early age but it seems he was still getting enjoyment out the first part long after I gave up on even the second.

I think its not so bad with the organised groups that know what they are out to do and keep it between themselves but when it alienates or involves people trying to have a day out and support their team its time to knock it on the head.

i'm just glad jason marriner is banned from grounds for 6 years i think but i think the main people who fought at that cardiff game 2 years ago should be banned for life, its obvious if opposing fans provoked them again they would do the exact same.

“Cool Story, Bro†is a catchphrase often seen as a sarcastic response on message boards or in comments to posts that are deemed boring, pointless or too long to read.

Someone is way too internet cool for us, and has no idea about what the HH's were.

I don't think you can dismiss them like that. These are people that followed Chelsea Home and Away all over the country, Marriner was an ST at Chelsea up until recently I believe. To say they aren't fans of the club is wrong in my view. They have probably seen Chelsea play at more grounds than 99% of Chelsea fans.

I am too young to know and won't pretend I know anything about the 70s/80s, but from older Chelsea fans I know that went nigh on every week and from studies and research I have done, I don't think it was anywhere near as bad as people made out (the violence etc), just young adolescents expressing their masculinity, these days gangs are a substitute for that, mainly just sh*t stirring by the press.

People like Marriner and HeadHunters in general are probably few and far between.

Trying to cast them aside like stones is no different to the Scousers that blamed Chelsea fans for Heysel, we have to accept we had/have our fair share of scumbags at Chelsea as does every club.

OK thanks for the explanation. If he has something worth saying, no doubt in the fullness of time he will return and say so in his own words. Catchphrases are useful for people who can't express themselves, I suppose.

It seems that there is a general concensus that mr mariner and co were THE Headhunters....I believe it goes further back to the ORIGIONAL GENERAL ....."HICKY"

Det Supt William Lyle of the Metropolitan Police said of the violence on the day of the Cardiff match: “Nothing like it had happened since the 1970s. One heavily pregnant woman in a car became very stressed by fighting hooligans.

“There was CCTV of a father shielding his two children as missiles were thrown over their heads. We were prepared for trouble but nobody could have foreseen that.â€

Do yourself a favour & read Jason Marriners book, then you'll see just what a stitch up that prog was, there's no doubt JM was involved in fv but to get 6yrs without even throwing a punch was a piss take.

As for the Headhunters, the name was a pisstake picked up by the media, since the mid 60s to today Chelsea like 80 odd other league clubs have lads willing to fight for the club, dont believe the crap that football hooligans are not real football fans, they are they love their clubs just as much as anyone, you dont think they'd travel 100s of miles just for a 2min punch up do you?

Of course fv isnt to be condoned but if two groups of adult men want to kick the crap out of each other then let them as long as no one else gets hurt.

I've had my moments just like others on here have, nowdays its just not worth it with the sentances being dished out but its always gone on & always will.

It seems like a lot of the negativity surrounding the Headhunters originates from MacIntyre's documentary, which is rather sad as MacIntyre comes off as a massive twat and I wouldn't put it past him to embellish for ratings. The only element of it that bothered me (if true) are the alleged links with C18 and the National Front. Hooligans strike me as rather silly people, but organizations of that ilk are another matter entirely.

Of course but the game also played a big part in the travelling.

;) Of course, I agree. Though my insinuation is probably true in some ways. Have drank and hung out with a few past "iconic" names at Chelsea that used to be into that stuff, and did my best to soak up as many stories as possible, but I can't pretend to know what it was like. Just love listening and learning. And drinking.

Sounded like a fun day out most of the time, until someone got cut up of course. That's where I would have probably said "laters."

Sorry lads...not much muscle here. And not too skillful with hatchets, hammers, carving knives, or spanners.

But I'll still sing those old songs as I am very talented musically.

The real Chelsea headhunters were the lot that got nicked in the 80s. The lot you see in the Macintyre doc are not the headhunters some were back in the day but once the 90s came it was a different younger lot. The headhunters is a media name so why its even an issue is beyond me. The real headhunters followed chelsea and england all over so to say they werent real football fans is not true. Most of the original headhunters aint stepped foot inside the bridge for years. If you really want to know how it works google PC DONAL MACINTYRE UNCOVERED where it proves the programme was non stop lies thats what you can do when you have 300k of tax payers money to spend and can put 50 minutes of 200 hours of footage together to make a story.

They might be some Chelsea fans version of hero's but not me. They were racist or behaved in a racist manner (just in case their supporters get too sensitive) and yes I saw them in action.regardless of the embellishments of McIntyre. What next they were just misunderstood
