Hiddink to boot out Cole and JT

How the hell did the sports editor of the Sunday Express give the green light for this following story in the Sunday Express?

'THE futures of Ashley Cole AND John Terry could be on the line if Guus Hiddink stays at Chelsea.

Friends close to Hiddink in Holland say the hard line Dutchman is considering telling Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich to sell the two players in the summer because of the damage caused to team discipline by their night club antics last week.

Skipper Terry and Cole have both been in off-field trouble before and Hiddink has made it clear that he considers them to have set an appalling example at a crucial time for the club.

That could clear the way for Terry to be sold to Manchester City, who have already made a £20million enquiry for him.

And the defender, who was with Cole when he was arrested last week, could also lose his dream of captaining England to the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa if England manager Fabio Capello takes a similarly negative view.

“Guus just can’t understand what on earth they thought they doing out late at night ahead of two crucial games in the FA Cup and the Champions League,†said Hiddink’s friend.

“He’s never had this sort of booze culture problem wherever he’s worked in the world and he just won’t tolerate it now because it’s England.â€

Cole played in Chelsea’s FA Cup win at Coventry yesterday, but Hiddink is faced with the problem of whether to involve him against Juventus in midweek if the rocket he is expected to receive from his wife Cheryl leaves him too distracted to concentrate on a huge European tie.'

This isn't journalism. This is scurrilous sh*te from the crayon of a scumbag. The phrases and words highlighted allows Colin Mapham to write just about anything. Funnily enough the "Have your say" is unavailable for this story. I suggest we bombard the twat with emails letting him know just what we think of his journalism. Based on the standard email format for The Daily Express, the email address might be colin.mafham@express.co.uk

This is, as you say, utter garbage, total fabrication, and written in such a pathetic fashion as to prevent that embarrassing rag of a paper being sued - as they have been on numerous occasions, because they have a history of just inventing stories.

The bit about Cheryl Cole is just infantile.

I had a Man UTD supporting mate turn up today unable to contain himself with this story and the one where Mourinho says UTD are the best team and he is the best manager and he will manage them one day.

He wasn't too pleased when I siad I don't read the papers as they print total fabricated rubbish and that I have no doubt at all Mourinho will end up at UTD and I think that will only make it easier for the rest of the Premier.

I totally agree with that paper! Because Hiddink himself told me the other day when i met up with him for a pint down my local.

i dont believe you because i bumped into him in my local tesco`s shopping for white lightning cider and he told me it was all a lie.

Getting sued for printing lies about Sheva and RA has obviously taught them a lesson:

Oh, and there was this climbdown too:

http://www.thefootballnetwork.net/main/s379/st131452.htm

Just found this:

The Daily Mirror then printed an apology, on February 9, accepting the allegations were untrue and apologising for any distress caused.
But on March 9
, in an article headlined “Sheva: Yes, it’s true I’ve complained about Chelsea managerâ€, the paper claimed that Shevchenko had said in an interview on German TV that he had played for better coaches than Mr Mourinho and would have been happy to have left Chelsea at the start of the year. Mr Kelly said no such interview had taken place and that quotes attributed to Shevchenko by the Mirror were false. The Mirror apologised after admitting he had not given the interview.

A fine paper, the Mirror.

While searching for other grovelling apaologies I came across this absolute classic:

Sunday October 21, 2007

The Observer

In 'Turncoat Terry' (Sport, 23 Sept), we did not intend to adopt any allegation that John Terry was a 'turncoat' or 'disloyal' or that he had played any intentional part in the departure of Jose Mourinho from Chelsea Football Club. We accept his assurance that he did not. We also accept that our headline might have caused confusion and apologise if any contrary impression was given.

http://observer.guardian.co.uk/comment/sto...2195939,00.html

That is like something from Private Eye. So a headline 'Turncoat Terry' was NOT intended to suggest JT was a turncoat.

On other pages: 'Cointhrower Carragher' did not imply that Mr Dignity was guilty of throwing a coin. 'Toilet Seat Thief Johnson' was in no way intended to suggest .....etc etc.
