This worries me as he would be a good signing for them, an upgrade on Kuyt if you like, as I could see him being used in a similay way. Hard runner, good work rate, and a great shot on him to boot.

He would also be able to play the Torres role when needed. Tevez, Torres and Starfish is a very good attacking three.

Hope it doesn't happen.

I can't see it happening somehow. Two reasons, the first being financial. Tevez isn't going to be cheap - never mind the complications of the Tevez tranfer saga - would Liverscum be prepared to pay the likely asking price? And secondly would the Mancs consider selling any player to the club that are arguably their bitterest, most hated rivals?

utd don't own him though, he is only on loan at them. he would be purchased off joorabchian (or however u spell it). if utd want to keep him, they have to buy him as well

it was reported that when he signed his new contract, he was given £30 mill to spend which is tevez's asking price. not sure if he'd want to waste it all on 1 player though when he could get at least 15 really crap spanish players for his reserve team

Yep, sadly you're right. Manure have no say in where he ends up as their loan agreement will have come to an end. I guess to an extent its down to how much Tubby rates Kuyt, as I can't see both of them starting?

I'm sure someone else has mentioned this, but how do you get 2 of a player's best playing years without paying anything aside from his wages ? I am very, very envious of that deal.

Although Man United has no say in this, I really doubt a Man United play will risk the backlash of the fans by going to Liverpool. I doubt he will even join us if we pay the asked price. The Circus of Madrid will suit him.

i dont think tevez has got anywhere near to being the player we expected at utd. hes not really played that well and only really has got the fans on his side because of his effort, similar to kuyt at the dippers. id be very surprised if old red nose buys him for £32 mill as in my opinion hes not worth anywhere near that.

My understanding of the Tevez situation is that MSI want 32 million for the player's deal to be made permanent. Which is exactly why I dont think Liverpool will be signing him. They are not free of financial problems themselves, and as we have seen, Benitez likes to spread the money around to getting average continental squad players, rather than blow it in one place.

If they were to get Tevez, I too wouldnt be that upset. He is a great player, but as G4 says, its Torres Gerrard that is their main threat. 32 million would be much better spent on good fullbacks and wingers, so lets hope it gets wasted on a player Benitez might panic on and sell back for half the price

So, if United decide to go on and buy him, they will have eventually paid 42 mln pounds for a player. How stupid is that ?

well no... I think the understanding is it would HAVE been a further £22m, totalling £32m.

the problem is that it was agreed in a different currency, and the pound has become weaker meaning it will cost them more than £22m now.

that's my understanding. he's a very decent player, but I don't think he's even worth £30m.
