jkmakenshi
To be perfectly fair...all newspapers are going to print from one side or the other rather than sit on the fence....and while you don't condone it, you can't deny that it took place and is a TERRIBLE reflection on Chelsea as a whole. I TRUELY hope the mods of this board logged the IP addresses and forwarded on any information to the releative authorities, because it's NOT a minor offense. Death threats are a SERIOUS criminal offense. The blame, for me, lies with the FA for not taking proper action last time it happened, because what happened? The guy retired. The numpties got what they wanted. Now whenever theres a poor ref in a chelsea game, people are EXPECTING this to go on...we all knew this would happen after last night, right? Chelsea are in danger of becoming one of the most hated clubs in europe...and not for the right reasons like United, but for the wrong ones. Ashamed to be english when I read these things, I really am.

jkmakenshi
Well that just pretty much hits the nail on the head as to everything I just said. Theres a difference to having respect for someone, and threatening their lives. Three players crossed the line last night, and a handfull of bad apples went WELL beyond the line. Out of curiosity though, since you're intent on going into that....when was the last time ANY OTHER ENGLISH CLUB was involved in something like this? As in, pulling the english game into disrupte and making us enemies of europe...and this is discounting the LAST time this happened with Chelsea vs Barca. When was stuff like this the norm? Thats right...back in the 80's, when english football was a DISGRACE. It's your backwards thinking that is dragging Chelsea back into that dark era and embarassing...no...DISGRACING english football. Maybe if you spent the time you devote to lashing out whenever someone critisises Chelsea and used it on SORTING OUT YOUR BACKWARDS MINDSET, you wouldn't be in this situation... Ask youself.... YES the ref was terrible last night...but is it a coincidence that it happens to chelsea over the last couple of years more than others? You reap what you sow. Thats sorted then. United were a disgrace then, agreed, so yeah...I agree with you, because United are cu nts, it's perfectly alright to send death threats to the degree a person has to be smuggled out the country. And loz, i'm missing your point entirely there. Are you bragging about the result? Because to be honest, i'd forget that as soon as I could, given thatwe lost yet came out of the game being praised as winners. Perhaps take note on how a team goes out of a cup with dignity? Didn't hear much out players disgracing themselves and death threats after that game did we? :D For someone who has sent newspapers quotes trying to act self-rightous about 'not condoning this action', you'#re doing an awfully good impression of someone justifying it, no? :) Edited May 7, 2009 by jkmakenshi
Englishman
"The incidents involving Liverpool fans have been well known to us before the trouble at the Champions League final which involved Liverpool fans. That was just the latest example. What other set of fans steal tickets from their fellow supporters or out of the hands of children? We have an independent police report mentioning 25 incidents since 2003 caused by Liverpool fans away from home. That's the most of any team in Europe and these are in the report. We should all be very pleased that no one was hurt." --William Gaillard

Englishman
And Liverpool fans wonder why there is a lack of sympathy for Hillsborough. Is there a more smug, self-righteous and myopic set of fans in Europe? Edited May 7, 2009 by Englishman
jkmakenshi
Exactly the reason why everyone hates Chelsea. You think you can justify your own actions through the actions of others. Loz, I hope you realise that through your own logic of buck-passing, you in fact do entirely condone everything that happened last night, and have exposed yourself for the nasty little git you are in the process. Turns out that all you were worried about was bad publicity. I hope you're really proud of yourself, mate....because all the dirt flinging you're directly at me has nothing to do with me, because I wasn't in Athens, I wasn't in Heysel....while all this death threat business is DIRECTLY involved with you. I have a clear conscience, I hope you do, and I truely hope nobody threatens your family with death, lest you should know what it feels like. loz
I think there is sympathy for Hillsbrough - there is from me anyway, there is symapthy for all the poor people who suffered terribly. What there isn't is sympathy for Liverpool fans who ignore the lessons of Hillsborough and tried to inflict the same suffering on others.
