Aston Villa vs. Newcastle

Hull City vs. Man Utd

Sunderland vs. Chelsea

West Ham vs. Middlesbrough

Hull have to win or hope to get the the same result [W/L/D] as Newcastle

Sunderland have to win or hope to have the same result as Newcastle and Hull

Newcastle have to win and hope either Sunderland or Hull don't

Middlesbrough have to win, and every fan must sell their first born to survive.

(I think thats right, correct me if I'm wrong)

Thoughts?

Victories for Villa, Man Utd, Chelsea and West Ham for me, which means its as you were at the bottom.

16. Hull City

17. Sunderland

18. Newcastle

19. Middlesbrough

20. West Brom

i think the jimmy nails will scrape a draw at villa and hull will get comfortably beaten by utd (all this talk of utds team is very tedious)

so, that means im going for hull and boro to join wba.

I think the current bottom three are the ones who will go down and I certainly hope that is the case. It would be good to see Hull survive making two of the promoted teams making the grade for another year which makes a pleasant change

Agree with you. Apart from the "look at me" manager, I am fully behind Hull to stay up. I fear the barcodes might achieve the result they need though, as Villa have been so poor recently.

such a shame west brom couldn't get more points this season- as much as it would be fun to see tango man relegated I would have loved it if all three north east sides went down.

remember, we can still go 2nd if we win by a few and the dippers lose by a few. keane hat trick would be funny.

Man Utd have done what was expected. Very weak starting XI against Hull.

Fair play to them. They've got every right as far as im concerned.

I wouldn't disagree with that bjd however I doubt I would be so charitable if we were the team relying on them to get a result. Having said that I reckon they will still beat Hull.

the thing is loz, anyone who gets relegated has no excuses. they have had 27 other games to stay up, anyone pointing at one game where a team played reserves is basically just trying to make up an excuse.

Its a half decent team and like you say, should be too strong for Hull.

There will certainly be a lot more effort from this XI than if Rooney/Ronaldo/Giggs etc were out there bearing in mind what is happening on Wednesday. Some of the critisicm this week has been way overboard i reckon. Lets not forget its not unheard of from teams at the bottom to rest players at Old Trafford simply because they know they are going to get a spanking whatever team gets put out.

Perhaps if Newcastle had played for a win and not a 0-0 at The Bridge earlier in the season they wouldnt have so much to worry about today. If they go down it would be typical of those idiot fans up there to moan about Utds team on the last day of the season and totally ignore the previous 37 matches.

If we were in Utds position (which we f**king well should be, cheers UEFA) we would demand the same thing up at Sunderland.

I appreciate that dkw (and trust me I have no sympathy for Newcastle fasn in particular!!) and all the teams that could go down today have been in woeful form for months however when you look at your fixtures over a season you identify games where you would be looking to get something (if you are a team destined to struggle) and I doubt any of the bottom fou would have Utd as a game where they were hopeful of getting a point or even three.

I personally feel the overall inegrity of the league as a fair competitive institution is important and I don't feel putting out a side like that on the last day of the season when it could cost other teams a place in the league is inkeeping with that integrity. No problem with resting two, maybe three players, but today's Utd side takes that too far.

I hope Newcastle go down and Sunderland stay up - I like Sbragia.

I think Man U should paly who they want - they ARE all Man Utd players who will be desperate to ompress. If they palyed their big guns how many tackles would be 'shat' for fear of injury so with such big game coming up it might be harder for Hull to have unknowns (very talented unknowns) play them

Barcodes relegated - to be honest it is something their fans probably deserve.

Another season of Phil Brown for Liam to enjoy.

Happy with that - to look at them you'd think they had stayed up, they'll have a hard job getting back up even with wage strung players.

Premiership really is the best leaguse in the World, although the SPL is equally rewarding to win...........

And Liam, Brown might fall off his motorbike on holiday and at least rub off some of his fake bake

I only watched the Chelsea game but I heard that neither of the teams that could be relegated gave it all. Sunderland seemed to want to win against Chelsea, but apparently the rest didn't show any desperation. Is that true? If so it's really odd.

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see them back in the Premiership for years and years.

Be interesting too see what crowds they start to get if thats the case.

There is no way that Newcastle squad would bounce back up. They don't have the right attitude and certainly not the fight for the Championship. They need a major refit and I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see them back in the Premiership for years and years.

You might be right about that, Loz. Too bad because I rather like them (think it's the shirts, they remind me of Juventus :laugh2: ).

I think they need to change alot of things in the club to get back. Some new players that will fight tooth and nails to win and then a manager who know what the team need to win.

They'll get the crowds because theres no-one else to support and they have total tunnel vision (which we all have) so they'll still get numbers - keeping and attracting players is a different thing, their parachute payment won't cover players contracts for long if theres no relegation clauses in their contracts, which there isn't, so I can't see them getting back any time soon - having said all that, f**k them
