Essentially the presses genius tactics appear to be:

1. Take any member of the current AC Milan team

2. Link them with Chelsea, as Ancelotti will only be interested in players he has worked with before

3. repeat 1 and 2 each week with a different AC player.

4. If you run out of Milan players, link CFC with a player who Milan were rumoured to be interested in before Ancelotti left, despite the fact that he had little say in who the club targeted.

Every time I open this thread I dread I'll read a message that confirms Gattuso is coming here.

Absolutely no danger - he was a star at Rangers and shone like one but there is no way he is good enough to come to Chelsea now, maybe five years ago at apush but complete non starter now. Cracking player with an amazing work rate but Chelsea at 31 - f**k off we;ve learned our lesson.

I don't think he is required over here. We've got the likes of Matic and Woods coming through for the same position, so I don't see the point of signing a 32-year old.

And he'd come here? I doubt he'd get a game after January if he did come. Whilst he's undoubtedly a talented guy in his position, we have better. He should probably consider moveing to another Italian club, or lower table Premiership team.

Yep, pointless for us. Past his prime, injury-prone, and more importantly, we've good surplus in that department.

I do think that Man City would be very interested in him though...of course it doesn't matter to them that they have De Jong and Barry already serving that purpose though.

I rate Gattuso highly, but we've no need for him at Chelsea, especially considering his age.

If he wants to play regularly, maybe he'd consider a return to Ibrox? I'm sure Rangers would take him back in a heartbeat!

Like Bluebeard I rate him very highly. I don't like Milan, but I have lots of respect for Gattuso.

But even if a part of me would like to see him in a Chelsea shirt I can't see why we would sign him. We've got Essien, Mikel and Ballack. And we also have players like Matic.

If we had lots of injuries then I could understand if we signed him as a temporary solution, but as it is now I really don't see the point.
