Its strange , this is the first time in years i havnt heard the usual crap of 'Oh its our year this year' , in the words of Bjork , ' it's oh so quiet' on the 2 man team front. One liverpool fan i know even went as far as saying he thinks we'll win the league this year , well blow me away , a compliment or a stab at the mancs , either way , its fun watching them lose all confidence in their messiah.

My liverpool flatmate is of the opinion that it is us or them for the title this season. However know matter who man u lose you can never write them off.

Maybe they are trying reversed psychology? Usually they sing about them winning the league - "it's our season this time!" - but they always end up in the league for awhile and then dropping down to a 3rd or 4th place. This year they keep their mouths shut - perhaps even say that Chelsea or ManU are going to win - and they go on and wins it.

I'm not sure that scousers are clever enough to come up with a scheme like that, but maybe they stole the idea from someone else.

And I pray to higher powers that I'm wrong.

Its encouraging, as everyone seems to think they will recieve something in the mid-20s for Alsono, and end up paying nearly 20 for Aquilani.

I havent seen much of Aquilani, but that seems to be the opinion of most: good player, but not much more. He also seems to miss a fair few games
