Tim W
I have 10 invites to Spotify to give away You must live in either: Sweden, Norway, Finland, the UK, France and Spain to use Spotify, it's free if you can stand the advertising. If you don't know what Spotify is check here What do you have to do, pm me your email address The first ten will be lucky - if you do not receive a subsequent e-mail from Spotify you were not in the first ten
g3.7
if no-one has responded, let me vouch for this- it's superb. (although liable to make your ipod swell rapidly)
Tim
Er, how do you get the tunes on your ipod G4? I thought the whole premis of it was that you can't download the songs, just listen to them? I have it, so will investigate...
g3.7
what I meant was- you listen to what you know and like, and the similar artists that you don't know about increase the albums you decide to go and find.
PloKoon13
A lot of people have recommended it to me. I wouldn't mind getting an invite to this, if you don't mind. Cheers Tim.
Tim
Ah i see G4, that's clearer, and yes, have done a similar thing, although not to a huge extent.
Maksimov
It's a great way to listen some albums to make up my mind if I want to buy them. Now there's no need to hastily jog through the album at the record store to get some sort of idea of the album when I can listen to the album at home and take my time and when I go to record store I can just pick up the albums I really like. Some albums take repeated listening before you start to appreciate them, so it's a great way to find new music. I just wish Spotify would be able to recommend new music to you like Pandora does. I think they're trying to make Spotify available on iPhones, so it will be interesting to see whether Apple will them to do that.
Eggy McMuffin
The amount of stuff missing from Spotify is annoying I never bothered with getting it. I heard they don't even have any Vengaboys!? :D
Maksimov
The amount of stuff missing from Spotify is annoying I never bothered with getting it. I heard they don't even have any Vengaboys!? :D I thought the catalogue of music that was available when I first tried it(about six months ago) wasn't all that impressive, but they constantly update the database with loads and loads of music(both old and new) and I think it's pretty good at the moment. I think the music that gets added to the database depends on the record companies that they've got contracts with. Still no Vengaboys, mind you, but I think they're concentrating on adding good music at the moment. :D

Maksimov
:D How dare you!? Actually...I take that back. Apparently they've got a Vengaboys tribute album in the database, so I guess they're not so picky about quality after all. :D
Maksimov
So.. lots of Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Jeff Buckley, David Bowie and Bruce Springsteen... Yes...more or less. At a quick glance the Bob Dylan is poorly represented(no Freewheelin' or Blonde on Blonde for example), but I think you can find plenty of music from the other artists you mention. I think they would have the Dylan albums if they could get a contract with the record company who owns the rights to the classic albums.

Maksimov
Great! I'm glad I took Tim W up on his offer! Good decision! When it comes to bringing and producing music and entertainment to the people, those Swedes sure know how to do it. So, no. I won't be getting it.
ethicalstrategy
If you are in the UK then no invite is required for the free account. If you want to use the new iphone or android apps then they are free to download but you need a premium subscription to use it. I'm just trying out the desktop application and seems pretty good. Don't know whether I'd pay the monthly subs for the ad free, higher quality version though. Also, given that Apple have let in to the app store, I'd say there is a fair chance that they will announce a subscription option for iTunes when they have their big music event on Wednesday.
