I used to live near Amsterdam when I was younger.... does that count? My dad was an engineer too, actually (changed career, not died :P ), working in a similar area, although he did Ariane 5. Is that better or worse? Who knows. :P

Welcome by the way!

I worked in Gouda (Ed De Goey's home town) for about 4 weeks and lived in Amsterdam during that time - do you mean there is a red light district? Why did nobody tell me?

All I remember about Gouda is that at a pretty sizeable cross road they had a massive billboard advertising Sloggi women's underwear - it must have been responsible for at least 15 road accidents per week!

There is no red light district, Loz, that's an urban myth. And all the museums are closed for refurbishments as well. So there's only the pubs. Damn.
