I took the family on holiday to Florida this year, there are a series of busy walkways leading up to Universal Studios, above which speakers were blaring out 'A boy with the thorn in his side'. It was quite a surreal moment!

Bobby Taylor Motown anthology.

One of Motown's lesser known stars, among Bobby Taylor's numerous claims to fame is the fact that it was he (not Diana Ross) who actually discovered the Jackson 5. Also his original band, The Vancouvers included a certain Tommy Chong of later Cheech and Chong fame. The music itself is excellent, includes his two biggest hits and as was always the way with Motown albums back in the '60s, a fair amount of classic covers, including "It's Growing",. "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" and a version of "Little Miss Sweetness" that predates the Isley's better known version.

I'd love to post his version of "Fading Away" but unfortunately can't find it.
