Looks like Zola's safe(ish) - from the BBC report on the takeover

But Sullivan is confident Italian Zola can turn the club around on the pitch and stated: "West Ham need stability after all the recent upheavals.

"We appointed four managers and parted company with two at Birmingham in 16 years. We believe in our managers and give them the time and support they need."

Felt so sorry for Franco when I saw him interviewed yesterday.

He played the game how it's meant to be played and just loves the game of football. He really isn't interested in the finances etc and you could tell that the guy is just totally fed up.

He's too good for that East End lot. Come home Franco - there's always a place for you at The Bridge. Would love to see him in a coaching role - especially with the youngsters.

I would take Clarke back in an instant. For me Zola will need to prove himself as a coach / manager before he comes to tbe Bridge. We shouldn't be giving people jobs as coaches just because they were great players - being great at one certainly doesn't equate to being great at the other.

I've always said that Franco would never make a manager - too nice a bloke.

But Loz you honestly don't think he has anything to offer in helping coach some of our youngsters?

Yer i agree with you about zola not being proven, and would obviouly not be suggesting e should be manager. but i think he does have somthing to offer as a coach. The west ham players all talk up his coaching skills, fair enough as a manager with al the additional responsibilities he may not be quite there (yet) but i think he would be a great addition to the coaching staff NOW.

NO idea Nibs. Let him go out and prove that he has, then we can come calling.

But why should he go out and prove himself elsewhere? I'm not talking any kind of managerial role. No picking the team and making tough decisions. Purely coach our youngsters. If Butch Wilkins can keep getting jobs without any kind of decent track record, Franco has to be worth a shout!

Because what if he is a poor coach? I don't want our youngsters being coached by someone who isn't very good at it. Franco the player I loved, Franco the gentleman I loved, Franco the manager is iffy, Franco the coach is not proven and therefore we shouldn't be offering him a job - we aren't a charity.

Don't get me started on Butch!!
