L Essien
Hi everyone. I post this topic as I believe we need changes in midfield positions.I think we have a biggest problem in midfield that up front at the moment. You can choose between your two first preferences, so more than two no please. Anyone can suggest one dream player, but please choose players available to sign for Chelsea. This would be my choices: James Milner and Jack Roedle, English players. young and hot prospects. My dream for midfield would be David Silva, but it is going to be very very difficult to get him here, Valencia will be in Champions next year and Madrid and Barca are crazy about him. Sheva
Hamsik unfortunatley is out of the question as he just signed a new contract with Napoli. For me Gourcuff or Silva.

blizeH
can I throw O'Hara into the frame. Controversial but not a bad shout! Doubt Tottenham would let him go though. And Milner seems similar but maybe slightly better? But similarly unavailable. I'd be over the moon with Dzagoev and Silva to be honest.
midlandblue
I see Milner more as an attacking wide player, O'Hara is more central. I think he would jump at a chance at comming to Chelsea and feel he would eventually compliment our "ageing" midfield, plus I'm sure he would be half the price of Milner. With regards to Milner I would rather Pienaar
dkw
Jokanovic and De Lucas, dream midfield pairing.
Spiller86
Now that Hamsik is out of the picture, I'm not sure there's a realistic ready-made candidate, whos youngish to step into our midfield out there. Some of the young midfielders playing in Portugal are ok, Moutinho, Ramires, Veloso etc. But given what I percieve to be the poor standard of the league, they might not make the jump so well. In a perfect world I'd take De Rossi as a central midfield option, but he's too expensive, too loyal and too important to ever leave Roma. That said I think the future of the club lies in wingers and less in midfield players. Essien, Mikel, and perhaps Matic and Cork along with Lamps and Ballack in rotation should be enough to maintain a decent midfield. Personally I'd like to see us invest in a technically good quick dribbler for that right side. I really think that's where the edge has been missing. L Essien
If we bring players from abroad, they clearly have to make a difference from what we have here. I mean, Silva to me is top class, but the Veloso, Moutinho etc, I am still not convinced, if that is what we look at, I would rather go all day long and stick with english players, such as Milner, Roedle, O' Hara. why? you will never get in trouble with them, they will never complain about the weather etc. This is an English team, and unless the price is too much, we should try to have the max english players able to compete at the highest level. Look at Barca for example, what they bring from abroad is clearly Top Class, otherwise, they stick with their youngsters or players from La Liga. This what I would like to see a A BIT MORE FROM CHELSEA. AS A CHELSEA FAN, I WANT ENGLISH PLAYERS OR PLAYERS FROM OUR ACADEMY AND NOTHING MORE THAN HIGH TOP QUALITY PLAYERS FROM ABROAD. bjd
I know footballers get paid a stupid amount of money these days but I don't think any midfielder in the world is THAT rich!
bjd
Jokanovic and De Lucas, dream midfield pairing. not beyonds the realm of insanity to suggest that pairing would have a bit more punch and dynamism than ballack and mikel! It's certainly quicker!
TheWestwayWonder
can I throw O'Hara into the frame. great suggestion. 23, English, and the way he gives 100% for Pompey, a relegated loaner club, makes me really admire him I dont think Spurs would let him go though

Alf
Jamie O'Hara would be a great buy, swap him for Joe Cole. Won't happen I know but we'd deffo get the better deal, looking at age, potential etc. We might get to see Danielle Lloyd down the bridge once in a while aswell, lol. Alf
I really dnt know how to take your posts Alf.....You sure your a Chelsea fan Joe Cole is one of my favourite players butnot the great player he once was, O'Hara has got great potential, from what I've seen. Wouldn't want Joe to go to Tottenham but as we all know Redknapp loves him and there's no smoke without fire etc. If the club wanted to keep him, he'd had been thrown a contract a while back, I've got a feeling Frank Ribery or Di Maria will be here next season, so where's that leave Joe? Spiller86
Ballack should, he must have a few quid in the bank by now! Mod that's silly. If he buys us we'll have to watch him giving away silly fouls for 10 more seasons. That said at least he'd be paying his own wages.
