£160 Million Deal with Adidas

Featured Replies

I read somewhere its the second biggest in the country after Nike's sposnsorship of Manure, and that its £8 million more we'll get per season than we already do.

Great deal all round I think, and will help us move to become self sufficient.

You bloody sod, I was just about to post this. £20mill a year is a significant jump from £12mill a year.

Agree but will it look that good in 5 years time ? Your right an extra £8 million a year in this climate is not to be turned down

All depends if Rooney deals are still about in the future . I think the Times quoted today that the first 6,000 fans at a every Man Utd home game from now on pay Rooney's wages that week ....................scary

Wow, that is quite a payday. Cant believe its the second best deal in the country

Part of me wonders if signing for so long will hurt our marketability if we are worth more in a few years time, but really at 20m a year, how much better can it get? Anyone know what the old deal was worth? I remember a 5 yr, 50m GBP deal a few years back, but I cant remember if that was with Samsung or Adidas.

Putting it in real terms like TBB said about the player is exciting. If this now means we can afford to chase at least one 20m rated player every year, that is awesome. (not that we couldnt before, I just mean there is spare cash lying around)

By the same token, we might be worth less in a few years... Heresy!!

It's some form of stability for 8 years, not such a bad thing I would think in the present economic climate.

Adidas has always been my favourite make - glad to hear we've extended it :)

So... We get more money from Adidas than the scum do? :)

Puts pay to the suggestion that the only reason we used to play Ballack because of Adidas

Think its a good deal, dont think the kit sponsor is a maker or braker to be honest, think that is more significant in the Sunday Times report yesterday that Roman is backing the player salary cap in the wake of the Rooney goings on.

sounds like a great deal for the club. It dosent go into much detail in the article but i wonder if there will be bonuses thrown in for success achieved during the course of the 8 years.

I agree that its a good deal in terms of money but I ain't entirely sure about their kits. Most of their kits are average across most leagues.
