Sturridge loan

Featured Replies

Does this confirm the return of the diamond formation?

Why would it?

We've played 4-3-3 without Sturridge and I can't see him leaving would change that.

But with Kakuta gone aswell we would only have the one sub for the front 3. In the diamond, Anelka could be the sub for one of 2.

Actually we have five players for the front three.

Malouda, Drogba, Torres, Anelka, Kalou.

Might add Benayoun as well when he's fit because I think he can play out wide.

Oh yeah Kalou!! :laugh2: Completely forgot about him!!

I wouldnt be suprised if we tried the diamond again though.

I feel for Sturridge, he must feel deflated in the least, here's hoping that the loan and getting a regular start at Bolton set him up for a successful return to our first team in the near future.

Agree. Slap in the face for him

I feel like this loan deal is something that will get him ready for next year. I just have a feeling that Anelka or Drogba will leave and Sturridge will see a bigger role.

He doesn't seem too down I say. In fact he says he asked to go out on loan about 5 weeks ago.

I just don't get why people say he is arrogant? Yes he is confident but he isn't an arsh about it. Seems like a guy we need around in the future.

Think the diamond was dumped because of the CAM role not the strikers. Frank is a box to box and Benny hasnt been healthy to try him in that role, tho I think he is more apt to succeed in that role than Frank.

I would not be surprised to see it before end of the season

Completely agree with you there. I think he talks a lot of sense, and in no way seems arrogant. He says we are a world class team, with world class players, that Didier and nico are at the end of their careers, and that he wants to be part of the future when they (Nico and Drogba) leave. All of this is nothing we've not felt anyway.

I'm happy the club wasn't offering him out on transfer, and delighted Studge is aiming to try an force his way into the team and take over from the big guns.

Good attitude.

God, its like he cant help himself. The arrogance and disrespect for Chelsea, Bolton, Coyle, the cameraman, the reporters, that oozes out of this kid. Its just shocking stuff.

The only ones Ive seen saying he arrogant are City fans, cant see why though, surely its only a co-incidence they started saying it after he left them for us.....

I really hope this move works out for him, its going to be nice to see him show off what he can really do.

You can tell this is just going to work magically, bar the extraordinary.

We know Studge has the potential, yet if anyone noticed the end of the Bolton game you would of seen proof this loan will be great.

Coyle comes running onto the pitch, heading straight for Studge, with a huge smile and a look that screamed "SEE! I told ya lad that you would fire goals in for us, you have the potential to be great" and Sturridge expression was "Hahah you're right!"

I know he had just won the game for Coyle, but it was a bond you dont see very often....especially when the lad and manager have been working together for anout 2-3 days!

Infact my only worry is that given how good they are bonding, if Studge lights it up and becomes a regular starter he might not want to leave Bolton! haha

and clever clever Coyle, I wont be surprised if he now is regularily able to capture top prospects on loans, the type of top prospects who are just about ready to break into the top European teams starting 11...... think of all that FREE quality he could use to secure Bolton as an upper table club
