Hiddink's Return

Featured Replies

The rumours don't take long to surface...although i'll believe it when i see it,

but,

ESPNsoccernet understands Roman Abramovich is lining up Turkey coach Guus Hiddink to replace Carlo Ancelotti in the Chelsea hotseat, should the Italian fail to deliver the Champions League this season.

don't shoot the messenger....i think its bollocks again!!!

I'd take Hiddink back in a heartbeat, probably BS though

I do not want Carlo out but feel it may be inevitable, and do believe that Guus is the best manager that Chelsea have had for thirty years, and YES I include Jose in that assessment.

He is a great coach, great man manager, is the perfect public face for the Club as people actually liked him (even at Chelsea) he has World experience and above all the players wanted to play for him.

I too would take him back in a heartbeat !!! Sorry Carlo.

Harry Harris (ESPN Soccernet) is a retard who is well known for constantly churning out an unsubstantiated nonsense, citing his multiple inside "sources".

He knows nothing and never even comes up with anything remotely original.

first Mourinho, now Hiddink, next is going to be Pep Guardiola.

With Pep only signing a one year contract extention at Barca I bet someone thinks this is a sign he's being lined up to come here as it wouldn't cost much to buy out a one year contract extention.

That seems a bit overboard don't you think? He was here for half a season.. And after the shambles that was Scolari, he was bound to look good.

Yes, he's a good manager and tbh I'd prefer him over Carlo any day, but I think that statement is quite a way off..

Pep has only ever signed one year contract extensions.

Read a few reports saying it was because he holds himself to a high standard and doesn't want a payout if he is fired for some reason. With the bonus being that if he does really well then he gets an improved contract the following season.

Ie. It's not a "he's going to sign for someone else next season" thing, it's just how he's always managed.

Exactly, and if that is true it's very noble of him. My main point was that the press would overlook any historic facts and just put two and two together to come up with a story about Roman wanting him to come in and make Chelsea the next Barca. We've even heard we are lining up to take over their Sporting Director once Arnesen leaves. next we'll hear that we're bringing in all their youth coaches

I agree with Blueskies - Hiddink was good but he had half a season. If we are judging manager on that, look at Carlo's first season - he was the first manager for us to do the double and also smashed goals scored in a season.

If Hiddink stayed on, he might have had a sh*t season and then people would be jumping on his back?

I read Hiddink wasnt coming back to club football at all as he said he thought he was to old and didnt want to do it full time
