The Cat in action at Roker Park. 18th May 1963. A crowd of 47.918 saw us win 1-0. Their last game of the season.

We had to play Portsmouth at The Bridge, on Tues 21st May and we hammered then 7-0. This was in front of a crowd of 54,558.

We edged out Sunderland on goal average, to go up to Division 1.

    He scored in the 14th min and John Sparrow scored in the 38th minute. watched by a crowd of 31,911.

    Judging by the reaction of the crowd, he might just have scored his goal.
