Posted July 15, 201113 yr What i would like to know,it is believed roman buys players he wants not the manager so who does he want and why we dont have them yet.
July 15, 201113 yr Author It is believed is it? By who? Chelsea managers have had players brought that managers have said it wasnt by them, such as shevchenko,i cant be the only one who has heard this before.
July 15, 201113 yr A question to whoever created this thread. How many players this transfer window have been bought that you would like at Chelsea? For me, I think Unt have bought a good prospect in Jones, but payed a premium for him & in a position we are strong in. Otherwise not bothered about any of the players who have been bought by others.
July 15, 201113 yr It is believed by people with too much faith in the media. It was believed that Torres was foisted on Ancelotti by Abramovich. Not so according to no less a source than Ray Wilkins. Who does Roman want? Well I don't know, but my guess would be that he wants a squad full of players capable of winning silverware. Why don't we have them yet? Because you can't always get what you want when you want it. Large swathes of the media would also have you believe that Abramovich picks the team. Without any evidence whatsoever, the motivation clearly being to pour yet more scorn and ridicule on Chelsea FC. It's the kind of drivel that goes hand in hand with the "you ain't got no history" and "there is absolutely no sporting merit in any silverware won by Chelsea". The "no history" mantra was first propagated by idiot scousers (and let's face it, you'd have to be some kind of idiot to swallow with their definition of history, or to believe that a 106 year old club ain't got none of it), gleefully pounced on by the press, and has recently been taken up by similarly f**k-witted Tottenham fans. Back to the original question. Roman Abramovich, as the owner, sanctions transfer payments. In other words, he either agrees to make funds available for the purchase of players or he doesn't. There is a subtle but important difference between sanctioning payments and choosing which players to buy..
July 16, 201113 yr If Roman is as much of a big scary mobster as he is popularly perceived, you'd think he'd just have managers he doesn't like murdered instead of shelling out millions in compensation like a mug.

I can imagine Gourlay in the interview now "Who? Carlo who? Weve never had any manager called that. I dont know what your talking about" As he kicks a big black bin bag out of view...
