Torres For Three Barca Youngsters

Featured Replies

There's an article in Mundo Deportivo about CFC negotiating an exchange with Barcelona of Torres for Sergi Roberto, Isaac Cuenca and Martin Montoya.

Supposedly in the beginning AVB offered Torres to cover for injured Villa and wanted Pedro and Montoya in exchange. Guardiola, who met Emenalo in Brescia, refused to include Pedro but was willing to part with youngsters instead. Torres apparently is happy about the swap.

For his part Romeu personally called all three to convince them to agree to a move to the Bridge. They are going to appear in Catalonia vs Tunis friendly on December 30 and leave for London immediately after the match.

Mundo Deportivo is the biggest sports paper in Catalonia and has many sources in Barca.

Jesus. Where's Xaviesque?

I'd swap him for Pato if we could. Milan like experience and Pato looks like a young Torres anyway, which is what we wanted before Liverpool scammed us!

Edit: this story is almost certainly complete bullsh*t, though I didn't realise the Spanish press were as nutty as ours. Looks like Roberto is a creative midfielder, Cuenca is a right winger and Montoya is a right back for anyone who didn't know (I didn't).

Apparently today is the fool's day in Spain.

Posted this in the random rumours as I just can;t see it.

BTW, Pato is dating Berlusconi's daughter at the moment, so don't see him leaving Milan anytime soon.

I think our interest in those youngsters is genuine btw, there were pieces of information in the past, regarding Sergi Roberto and Montoya especially. Obviously Barca aren't too pleased to part with their talented youth but there are only so many places they have got available in the first squad and with Romeu being a hit at SW6 and playing regularly that may sway others to folllow his footsteps.

Looks like AVB has spotted his favorite shop. Its the second best thing to developing your own talented youngsters. Low cost, high returns.

hahaha don't buy it for a second.

Would be interesting to see if it happened though.

Some already mentioned it: yesterday was April's fool day in Spain so a lot of hilarious stories were published.

Regarding the youngsters:

1. Montoya did just renew his contract until 2014 or 2015.

2. The same goes for S. Roberto.

3. Cuenca will be out of contract in the summer, they are negotiating a renewal at the moment.

All 3 are officially still listeted as B players but Pep has already said that Cuenca will stay with the first team for the rest of the saison due to the injuries to El Guaja and Ibi.

Normally a renewal has also a prospect for the promotion to the first team (was the case with Thiago) so I suppose Montoya and S. Roberto will get promoted next season together with Marc Bartra.

So to sum up, its bullsh*t?

How about we give you Milan Lalkovic, Billy Clifford and Todd Kane for Messi?

That would surely not be a win-win situation. And it seems Messi is a one club man like XavIniesta and el tiburon

Yeah..i was joking...

No way Messi is worth those 3.

Sounds like when you convince a small child that having 2 pennies is better than a £1 coin because there are more of them...
