West London parking for home games (Hillingdon, Hammersmith?)

Hi guys,

I usually park at Hillingdon, but wasn't sure if there's anywhere closer that's on a tube route and is reasonably priced?

I'm looking now and Hammersmith for example is just 11 minutes from Fulham Broadway, but it'd cost me £18 to park there which is pretty steep.

Would really appreciate any suggestions on where to park, coming from Oxford direction for home matches, preferably cheap and also within a close distance to Fulham Broadway. Thank you!

Chelsea & Westminster hospital car park is a good shout. £3.50 and walking distance to the ground.

SW10 9NH for the Sat Nav.

There are other options around West Brompton & Earls Court but all expensive and further away.

Many thanks, looks like a very good option - going to the Newcastle (mid week) game next month so will go for that, £3.50 for a few hours sounds like a fantastic deal considering it's within walking distance!

Are there any similar places with an all day/weekend charge that you know of? The next game we're going to is Wigan, and would probably like to spend the whole day in London.

Thanks again

Not sure to be honest mate, I rarely drive but have used that car park this season once for a midweek evening game and it was £3.50 for the evening. At those prices might not be too much for longer periods, most places around the area are over a tenner for a few hours!

Has the Newcastle revised date been confirmed now?

If you get there within an hour of the game, there is usually parking near Chelsea Harbour and down the resident streets. Usually £6-7 and 5 minute walk from the stadium.

Perfect, thanks guys - nice to have a couple of options for when I'm coming down just for an evening game :-)

And nope, not yet mclovin - still waiting as I need to buy an extra ticket!!!

For evenings there are a couple of options I tend to use.

If coming from A3/Richmond way then :

Putney you can park from 6.30 on the side of the road (carlton Drive Area) ... if you want to get there early then can pay a few quid up to 6.30 the free after.

If a nice evening 20 mins walk to the ground, or two tube stops on the less busy direction of the District Line.

If coming from the M4 Hammersmith :

Then end of Dawsons Road area, or end of A4 end North end Road area, again parking free in the evenings, can be a bit more tricky to get a space at times though, but just a few minutes from the Mitre for a pre match drinky and a futher 10 minutes walk to the ground so relatively close. Another issue that sometimes occurs is getting out after the match the traffic can be heavy.

I always come in on the M40 and drive into Paddington, I get off at Westbourne terrace, then turn first left into Bishops Bridge rd and it's on your left, drive straight into the car park, it's at the end of the platform, it's only 10 minutes or so on the tube to Fulham Broadway, it's secure with an attendant, weekends cost £12 for 24hrs and midweek £15.50 for 6 hours.

Blize, carry on in the A40 and after you come out of the hanger lane underpass keep left to do a u turn as though youre heading back to Oxford. Then get into the slip road for Park Royal station and cinema etc,the left b4 or after station no problem parking on sats or evenings............With Hillingdon go past it heading over the A40 and 2 mins further you can park on main road for free at all times and youre 1 stop closer at Ickenham mate............

Trouble is unless you know the rat runs and back roads it can take a lot longer getting to The Bridge than on the tube especially for evening games. Three options.1. Have you tried West Ruislip station just a mile and a half north of Hillingdon? Big car park there, £4 all day and you have a choice of fast train to Marylebone or the more direct Central Line to either Notting Hill Gate (change to District Line for Fulham Broadway) or as I do to Shepherds Bush, cross the road for the Overground Line to West Brompton. Both roughly 40 min journey times. 2. As suggested keep on the A40 to Park Royal and you're much further down the Piccadilly Line towards Earls Court and it's easy to park in the residential roads just north of the station. 3. If you want to drive as far as possible, I'd recommend putting Moylan Road in your SatNav. Not far off the A4, no parking fees at weekends and about 15 min walk to the ground.

Huge thanks for the replies guys, I'm thinking due to traffic, stress, potential congestion charges etc etc I would prefer to park further our and tube it some of the way...

The three options that Bovis mentioned in particular all sound great, cheers - our next game is Wigan next week so will try one option then, and we're not going to another game until Newcastle so will go for whatever is a safe bet, coming with someone who's never been to a game before and we'd be rushing to The Bridge after work - don't want to risk missing any of it :)

Thanks again
