Yeah, it should be great! Much as I love Lynyrd Skynyrd, I hope they don't just concentrate on them - I'd like to see some footage of The Marshall Tucker Band, Black Oak Arkansas, Molly Hatchet, .38 Special, Blackfoot and The Rossington Collins Band. Probably a bit much to ask, but I live in hope.

Fantastic. Not that I watched it, but that's some pretty cool stuff. And yes, there is a load more to Sothern Rock than just Lynyrd

we get plenty of Southern Rock here - we have a great satellite country station called Outlaw Country that plays a ton of southern rock both old and new plus of course country.

check out Drive By Truckers and also Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Shooter Jennings (son of Waylon), North Mississippi Allstars, Alabama Shakes for some examples, and check out givememyxxx.com too for new southern rock dubbed too rock for country and too country for rock.

Many thanks for highlighting this, Steve. I'm just watching Southern Rock at the BBC. Here's a sample

There is something wrong with you lot!

All this talk of Southern rock but no-one has yet mentioned the greatest of them all, the Allman Brothers Band. Shame, shame!

Err, may I refer you to my original post. The Allman Brothers Band were superb, always rated them.

Yes, they featured a lot in the first porgramme. But there was too much talking drowning out the music!
