Next seasons tickets

Hi guys

I am from south Africa and will be touring the UK in march/April next year, I would like to visit Stamford bridge and attend a Chelsea game at the bridge. I have been trying I get tickets from the official Chelsea website but it seems next seasons schedule is not out so I can't select tickets.

Is the Chelsea website the only way to get tickets from south Africa? Also do I need to be a member to get tickets?

Any help would be much appreciated

The best bet is to grab a membership for next season, wait for the fixtures and plan from there. You'll be in a much better position being a member and buying tickets officially.

If we win the european cup i can see so many memberships being sold to all and sundrie that its gonna be a tough task getting those tickets even via net at 730 am

Don't say that, what I don't understand is why become a member to a club who you (not you but the fake supporters) probably don't support? It's just annoying for someone who has been a loyal and dedicated fan since I can remember, with even the Stamford Bridge lion as my first teddy, so just grates on me a bit..

It grates on many of us. Membership used top guarantee a cup final ticket. As such I was able to get tickets for the '94, '97 finals. But in those days we only had about 10,000 members. Now with all the JCLs there are more than 100,000. I no longer have any chance of tickets for finals.

I know what you mean. Being only 18 and telling someone you support Chelsea everyone assumes your a glory hunter and only since they won something you supported them. I supported Chelsea before I was born I had no choice in the matter! And as I've been told so many times my old man was the last one on the terraces crying when we got relegated, and him with all the other fans singing we'll be with you next year and as many would know and only I can imagine many fans didn't mean it and left the club they supposedly supported.

Sorry if I'm wrong I wasn't there just saying what I've been told :139:

Thats just ridiculous from 2009/10 I went to every home game with my friend with a membership who bought our tickets, and pretty much every away game I could manage, and not even he could get a ticket for the FA Cup Final that year with all his points. We won 1-0 as well which he is still annoyed about 2 years on that he couldn't go.

Just because you are a young fan doesn't mean you support them any less, the "vintage" fans who went to the matches back in the day must have started supporting them at some stage so for them to say they are better fans than us is a load of rubbish really.

Hi guys

I have been a supporter since I was a kid, that's why I am making dream come true to try and make it to the bridge all the way from south africa

Not trying to make it hard for anyone else to get tickets

Oh God no, we aren't questioning your support at all or saying "back off" just talking about the false fans out there really. Can't really answer your question but good luck trying to find out!

I dont understand your point, the 'vintage' fan is in the same position as you are. This is the fairest system there is tbh.Sadly not everyone will get tickets due to demand.

I was just referring to HisDogSpot's point about young supporters not taken as seriously as the elder fans really. Of course we are in the same situation with some tickets going to numpties rather than true fans!

Thats exactly my point. I pride myself in supporting this club and go as much as I can. It pisses me off so much that we have so many 'fair weather' fans but its always like that and as we're in a good patch at the moment we get the fans and not supporters (there is a difference). I'd rather the Bridge be half empty as long as there proper supporters instead of us being a tourist attraction.

Unfortunately it's the best way for our club to grow and to be able to compete with other clubs without splashing Roman's money - by having lots of fans, selling lots of tickets and merchandise. The saddest thing is the fact that they have to exploit us with outrageous prices in order to pay the ridiculous amounts involved in football. The Germans know how to treat their fans right, the best season tickets are 625euros for a year, with 50% concessions for kids!! They go all the way down to 80 and 120 euros, that's the cost of 2-3 games here... christ :(

Hope not, moving back home next year as I finish uni so will hopefully have some money and be able to come to games :)

Yougsters should not be maligned for there lack of years supporting the club. After all its hardly their fault that they got lucky and now support a winning team. Some older fans are real idiots about this. Its not any reflection on a 20 year old that he wasnt there "when we were sh*t" Don`t make them any less of a fan if they try and go all the time now. In fact given the prices and trouble getting tickets its harder to go all the time now, than back in the day when you paid at the gate and pissed up a wall!

I hear what you are saying but don't think the old skool lot get any better deals . All i get for having a season ticket for over 18 years is 5 extra points at the start of the season ..........that winds me up a lot .

To me you should get 5 points for renewing then an extra 2 point for every year you have renewed...........

yeah, can see your point too. Would mean that foe Saturdays final, our away travel would need to be run by Saga. Flask and blanket standard issue!

.....and who will be making the most noise and having more fun Saturday in Munich ???? Us lot !!

P.S. a lot of us ain't that f*ckin old !!!

I'm not quite sure who are being accused of being "false" fans or "numpties". People who are too poor to attend the matches? People who live on the other side of the world and can't get to the Bridge except maybe once in a lifetime? It doesn't make them less genuine fans than those who are fortunate enough to be able to afford tickets and live near enough to attend matches regularly.

i`m probably as old as you mate, just feel for the young`uns who struggle to afford the prices to even get started at chelsea now, let alone ever get a chance at going to a CL final. Different fan profile now to when i started, Far older.

I'm sure you're not nearly as old as me, Chelseaboy! Nobody is as old as me.

I'm not saying I don't feel sorry for them. I was querying who the people are who are being described as "false fans" and "numpties".

moi, i didnt call anybody a numpty or a false fan, i think matamarryme said that. I was just sticking up for the younger fans.

Yes, I know that. I didn't say you said it. I'm just bemused that there are younger fans who seem to think they know who are "false fans" and "numpties". I have reached the ripe old age of mumble mumble mumble without being able to distinguish - unless they are people I know personally.
