Chelsea's all time hard man team.

Featured Replies

So I was thinking about how we could cope with todays Sunday league battle at QPR and figured we could do with pretty tough line up. And then I wondered what our all time toughest team would be.

I guess a lot of the 70 Cup Final team would be in the reckoning, particularly Harris McCreadie and Webb.

Since then, names that spring to mind are Droy, Wise, Roberts, Vinnie Jones, Joey Jones, Rougvie, Erland Johnson, Terry, Speedie, Mick Harford.

So I might go with;

Foulkes

J Jones, Terry, Webb, Harris

Wise, V Jones, Roberts, Essien

Speedie, Harford

Any suggestions to make that team even harder?

We would end up with at most 3 players every game if they played now :laugh2: , thats if the opposition didnt sh*t themselves and leg it.

This team would cause a severe case of the pre-game sh*ts in the opposition dressing room. Some people might be surprised to see Graeme Le Saux in there, but he was a bit of a hard f*cker when he needed to be, even having a fist fight on the pitch with his team mate David Batty.

Willie Foulkes

Ron Harris - Micky Droy - Joey Jones - Eddie McCreadie

Johnny Boyle - Graham Roberts - Vinny Jones - Graeme Le Saux

Bill Garner - Mick Harford

Subs.

Dave Beasant, David Webb, John Terry, Erland Johnsen, Frank Sinclair, Doug Rougvie, Peter Nicholas, Michael Essien, Peter Osgood, David Speedie, Tony Cascarino

Before my time, but by all accounts Peter Sillett, John Sillett, Stan Willemse and Frank Upton were all hard b*stards too.

Steve some may be surprised to see Ossie in there, but he could properly handle himself could that big sod. Gave out more than he got the majority of times. Big Mickey Droy is a great shout, but chances are he would take out as many of our players as the opposition :laugh2:

Surely Khalid Boulahrouz is in with a shout here?! Absolutely solid. Most of the players being mentioned are before my time but some more recent ones could be Alex, Huth and Branna as well?

I know they probably won't compare to the players of a couple of decades ago, but football players have changed, and I don't think we've had much harder than those guys in the last 10 or so years.

Mark Hughes.

Sparky was a tough guy, no question, but Big Bill Garner and Micky Harford used to eat bricks for breakfast. Neither of them was the most elegant of strikers, but not many defenders had the balls to confront them.

I'll add Sparky to my list of subs, I loved the way defenders bounced off him!
