Everton and the League Cup....

Featured Replies

I'm sure I've mentioned this before........but anyway..........

Isn't it bizarre how a big English club like Everton, have never won one of the easier of English trophies?

I'm not having a dig at them at all, just find it a bit mental.

Watching Everton in the league cup, must be as frustrating as watching us in the CL, post 2012.

With Leeds 2 up, looks like the wait will continue........

Post 2012?

We've only played one game.

What, do you think Uefa should just hand the trophy straight back to us?

Not a bad idea when you think about it ..

Yes, they should. I don't see a problem with that at all. Everyone else can play for runner-up.

Their approach to the league cup baffles me too. They prioritise the league just to finish about 7th every season. I bet their fans would prefer the league cup and to finish 12th. If you're competing for the major honours then it's more understandable but Everton have won one trophy since 1987.

I think that it's got to a point where the money earned from Premier League positions is so high that teams would now prefer to finish a couple of places higher in the table rather than have a decent crack at a trophy.

It's 6 or 7 games at most, surely they can handle that without hurting their league form. Surely the club and it's fans would rather win a trophy even if that means finishing 9th over something like 6th.

I don't think they're expected to win it in all fairness, maybe it's their best shot at a trophy but not expected
