If you missed it catch "Danny Baker's Great Album Showdown" on the iplayer well worth an hour of anyone's time

I watched it last night on BBC4, thoroughly enjoyed it! Danny Baker talks at 100mph as usual, but he's got a great knowledge of 70's music.

Three part programme: -

1. Rock

2. Pop

3. R'n'B

Part 2 is being shown tonight on BBC4 (Freeview Channel 9) at 21:00, part 3 tomorrow night at the same time.

Apparently Boy George is taking part in the Pop episode, so I'm not particularly looking forward to that one.

Danny Baker is an absolute legend (for a Millwall supporter!!)

Has to be my favourite radio broadcaster of all time (along with Gary Crowley). I meant to Sky+ this series but will watch on iplayer and make sure I catch the rest.

As much of a tit as you may think DB is, wait is our own Davey Baby actually Danny Baker?  He does have a great knowledge of music, especially the 70's

My wife bought be a book called Sniffing Glue which was all about the emergence of the Punk Scene in the mid 70's.  The fanzine was started by a bloke called Mark Perry, and after a few editions Baker joined in to the scene.  I think the first copies were literally written by Perry on a typewriter, and then given out at gig's around London.  Great read for any punk fans out there.
