There are a number of cost effective solutions to our striker dilemma...

Remy - 6m release clause if qpr relegated

Bony - 12m

Lewandowski - 15-20m

Jovetic - 25m

I think remy could be a good option perhaps as a backup . Proven goal scorer who was worth 20m a season ago

AND

One of jovetic or lewandowki

Cech

Dave. Luiz. (Hummels). Cole

(Fellaini). Ramires

Hazard. Mata. Schurrle

Lewandowki

I dont see us spending 30 mil on Fellaini come the close season, i thought we might have done in the mid season transfer market but once the season comes to an end players want to move on and i think there will be better for less money. Plus if we really do get Jose back then i think one of the first things he will do is restructure the over 30 rule and if he does that then alot more top quality world class players become available.

As for a centre forward i dont see us paying top money for a player untried in the premier league, we have been bitten too many times bringing centre forwards into the premier league only for them to flop and leave a year later.

And i dont see cost effective as a word the Rom will be using come the pre season to be honest, lets just hope whoever the manager is actually thinks about gelling a new squad rather than picking international names out of a hat and hoping the do the business.

One of Lewandowski or Jovetic, Huntelaar's also been mentioned before. Just someone who can score ASAP.

I could be wrong but isn't Jovetic more of a number 10? We need a solid 20 goal a season man, and that isn't him imo. I'll be happy with Lewandowski.

yes you are wrong. hes not a nr 10. he can play a wide forward or a second striker, but hes primarily a striker

i still dont think hes good enough for chelsea and would prefer lewy instead

As he's a striker I definitely wouldn't want him here. Only 12 league goals so far this season.

You must also take into account the supporting cast that he has there. As much as I hate the little c**t Javier Hernandez is someone I'd consider an alternative to Lewandowski, seems much more composed when finishing and is a born goal-scorer. Not nearly as good in the build-up play but that's already well taken care of, but he can put away a chance as well as almost anyone.

We also have to consider whether or not these players would want to move. I'm not so sure about Lewandowski in this aspect, he seems perfectly settled already in a better team than ours, why would he want to come here?

i definitely agree. i find it funny most arsenal fans are drooling over him, as i feel an upper mid table club is exactly his level

hes openly said he wont be signing a new contract with borussia. unless hes thinking of retiring, id wager he wants to move to another club

Man U or Bayern for him I reckon.

bayern i very much doubt. theyve developed a strong rivalry over the years hes been there

even though linked with man u, i just cant see how he fits in

Yeah, I wouldn't see him going to those clubs. Juve would actually make a lot of sense but they're already getting Llorente.

Lets just hope we get a striker

Centre Back and Defensive Mid are positions of need too.

If we can't get the Falcao/Cavani superstar we're after, then I think Lewandowski could be great too. I've watched a lot of the Bundesliga this year and his skillset fits our system very well indeed, and he's a great finisher.

no, we dont

At the moment,

1.) Do we have any out and out goal scorer ?

2.) Do we have any striker who's scoring well in the League this season ?

3.) Do we have any striker who can turn a match on his own ?

4.) Which striker is leading the line at the moment ?

5.) Do we have a striker of the caliber of Falcao, RVP, Suarez or Benteke ?

Torres and Ba are far from top notch. There is far too much pressure on the midfield to both create and score. Look at Manu, they're on their way to a league title by simply outscoring the opponents and you'll be surprised by how few goals have been scored by their midfield.

We neither have an established or world-class striker. Lukaku will be back for next season but he's still unproven. People who think that the trio of Torres, Ba and Lukaku can lead the challenge for the league and CL are sadly mistaken.

That we definitely do.
