June 30Jun 30 Just a reminder: Capitalism doesn't care about you or your game or your club or your country.

As soon as football became big business owned by companies their aim has been to replace fans with customers, they dont want the guy that has been going for 40 years, buys his season ticket and thats it, theres no money to be made from him. They want the tourists coming in spending money in the superstore, they want business`s buying boxes and tickets to entertain their clients/customers spending on food, drink and gear.

The difference is that business and capitalism does not distinguish between the two and that "fans" and "customers" are the same in their view. The fan who buys a season ticket is a valued customer to them and there is plenty of money to be made from him. They want the tourist fans and the business fans too. The fan is a great customer, because he is loyal to the brand and will always be pay money to the capitalist entity regardless of how he is treated. The fan is the best customer. He might even get a loyalty card if he buys enough. Capitalism doesn't care about you or your game or your club or your country - nor does it distinguish between fan or supporter or tourists. It is just motivated to obtain your money.

Not only at Chelsea but at other clubs as well. That would be a real shame as families and friends having been going together for many years. As I've mentioned before there is about ten of us - we're all ST holders - who go to the games together and because we live in different pars of London, Kent, Essex and Surrey match day is usually the only day we meet up. We rarely eat and drink in the ground and probably visit the club shop once a year i.e. at Christmas.@dkw You're right, the club wants day trippers and not necessarily Chelsea supporters who will spend a fortune on drink and food and in the club shop.
