Buying tickets?!

Featured Replies

Hiya I am currently looking into going to the first home game of the season against hull and have decided to become a member as I have more chance to get tickets but as the site is down for maintenance, I will have to sign up as a member on Monday the 1st like it suggests. So once I have become a member, on the 8th I can buy myself 1 ticket but as I am probably bringing my friend (non member) depending if he can get the day off work or not, when I buy his ticket on the 15th when members can order an extra 2 tickets is there any way I can get the seats next to each other? or will the seats be automatically next to each other as it's under my membership? or should I just wait until the 15th and order both at the same time?

Sorry for such a noob question xD This is my first time ordering tickets and first time seeing a game at the bridge and i'm extremely looking forward to it, hence the urge to order the tickets asap before they sell out, how likely are they to sell out?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give me :)

It will definitely sell out. With it being jose first game. Best of luck with it.

My thought exactly, makes me think buying my ticket on the 8th will be the best idea! Even if i do have to go on my own

I will hopefully be getting one the 8th aswell. I renewed my membership over the phone maybe try that. It will sell out but it might go slowly it's really hard to tell.

Good luck :) That's a good idea I will be sure to call up! Thanks

Not sure were to put this, but I guess this is as good as any. How many tickets can you purchase with a membership? Is there a difference from game to game?

When tickets go on sale they are 1 per ticket per membership, then a week later season ticket holders and membership holders can buy an extra 2 tickets (if there are any left, but i don't know how often tickets sell out and how quick)

What is a pain is when you buy your ticket on the 8th it could be for Saturday, Sunday or even Monday evening. Surely it would make more sense to delay selling the tickets until Tuesday so sky can announce when the live games are. Good luck with your tickets Mearkk it could be really smooth or you could be in a virtual waiting room for 40 minutes or so! it will be sold out by the weekend I'm sure of that.

It's a bit silly I've got to agree XD luckly i'm only supposed to be working on saturday that week but as it's my birthday im getting that day off so whatever day it's on i can make it :)

Thanks! Fingers crossed it all works out and I can spend the month and a bit after buzzing for my first game at the bridge :D If you are correct and it does sell out by the weekend I guess im going on my own! Not that that bothers me.

Hi

It's extremely unlikely that tickets still be available by 15 July but anyway if you want two tickets next to each other you have to wait till 15-th. But, in this case you may end up with restricted seats (if still available) or without tickets at all.

Alright then, Thanks!

As you're all saying that it will be sold before i have the chance to buy tickets on the 15th, i think im just going to buy myself a ticket on the 8th and go on my own (if i can get a tickets at all :)

Of course you can. It's category B game and not required any loyalty points. Actually, anyway, loyalty points isn't an issue at the beginning of the season.

Depends on the game if it's a big game they carry over so I.believe could be wrong

Alright, awesome, well i'm not going to get my hopes up and get too excited until I've got a ticket for sure :)

Also I tried again this morning to apply for a membership and it all worked, the money is out of my account and im just waiting the 48 hours for it to be active :) Seems like all I have to do now is wait for 7am next Monday to hopefully grab some tickets! Thanks to everyone that helped me out!

Any suggestions of what to do, as it being my first time at the bridge? I want to get the most out of this experience as it's clearly going to be a game i remember and hopefully will be the start of many trips to watch the blues!
For example: Where to sit? Where to go for pre-drinks? What time shall I get to the stadium? etc?

If you want better and closer view - West Lower is the best stand, if you want atmosphere - Matthew Harding. Shed is quite boring and too close to opposite allocation. If to choose upper stand - East better than West.

I'm usually there hour before kick-off, you'll have time for Megastore and for some beer. I'm not a big fan to drink before the game but there are lot of pubs around. Here is the list: http://thechels.info/wiki/Pubs_near_Stamford_Bridge , The Butcher's Hook is closest. Also you can drink inside the stadium (if not European match)

I wish they were selling tickets for the hull game on a points basis that is carried over from last season. The thought of losing out to tickets for Joses first game back to some part-timer like the original poster makes me feel sick

Part timer? Alright then mate! xD Im an 18 yr old in a family of no football fans and have been a Chelsea supporter for 13 years this is my first time going to a game only because i had my a job and my own source of income for a few months... if i could afford it i'd be one of the first people to become a season ticket holder, don't even begin to judge me when you don't even know me... I'm chelsea til' i die!

the club could easily just make it that on the 8th from 7am to 9am it only for old members(10LP or more) then after 9am anyone who just become a member  can get one. this will let the old members get a ticket easy with less waiting time and then the rest could go to new members so they get a chance to go to the game.

mearkk getting tickets are very easy as a member last year I went to all the big games home and away with not many points(65LP by the end) and away games are the best games to go to and a lot cheaper bcz a lot of teams do 18 to 21 ticket that y I go to more away games because it cheaper for me to go and they r 100000000% more fun

You have 2 start somewhere he's only 18. This will be my 20th year going watching chelsea. 20 year's ago I started and Im still going it ain't cheap from Ireland. I've followed chelsea to shedloads of games in England and abroad. Hopefully in 20 years time the originally poster will have done the same. We all started somewhere so give him a break.

Wow who are you to judge him like that? Seriously, why do some people feel so entitled. He is a member, and is paying money to watch the team he supports he has just as much right to watch Chelsea as you do. Muppet!

Idiot.

I can sort of see his point to an extent.  If I had been to practically every game last season and had load of bonus points I might feel a bit miffed at not having an advantage over newbies.  And as someone who hasn't got loyalty points, I wouldn't have been surprised or moaned if they had decided to make Jose's first game subject to loyalty points.  BUT to call the OP a part-timer is out of order.  He hasn't made the rules and has as much right to try for tickets as any other member.

The club has missed out on generations of fans we need young fans what 16 17 year old has £50 to go watch chelsea. He needs to start somewhere
