We aren't favourites for the title. We look mediocre against a mediocre team. Our big signings don't even step up when needed. Havertz has done nothing to impress me since he arrived. A goal to win the CL doesn't change that.

Please drop Ziyech and bring Ruben

So playing Kanté+Jorgi+Kova? Bit of a CM overkill maybe, after all we need someone to feed our forwards. I'm totally for bringing Werner though, love the idea of unleshing Werner-Lukaku on their high line. Other tough calls:
- Alonso vs Chilwell: Chilwell seems like the more suitable choice for their fullbacks but I wouldn't rule Alonso out, he's so full of confidence and not setting a foot wrong at the moment. Also worried that Chilly might not be the type of player who immediately picks up where he left after not playing for a bit.
- Jorgi vs Kova: If we're playing without Kai, Kova could offer a bit more progressive energy. Probably wouldn't be wise to lose the stability Jorginho brings, and Kanté can do it all anyway.
- Christensen vs Silva: This could be a tough call many times this season. Especially in a game like Liverpool I'd love to see Silva's commanding presence. Christensen however has been amazing so far in every aspect of his game, he's also a bit quicker and more mobile, probably deserves to start again.
-----------Werner--Lukaku-----------
----------------Mount----------------
Chilwell----Jorginho--Kanté-----James
----Rüdiger--Christensen---Azpi------
----------------Mendy----------------

buzzcfc reacted to forbzy in Chelsea v Man Utd (PL) Mon 17th Feb 20:00 GMTI think we've been here before many times when it comes to United. Elleray in 94, Webb in the 3-3 draw, Clattenburg in 2012 a 3 examples. I even remember one of my first games at the Bridge in 1978 when the ref gifted a dodgy last minute equalizer to them in a 2-2 draw. Unfortunately I have got used to this rubbish over the years. I was hoping VAR might help in these situations but it actually seems to have reinforced the underlying issues.

Any links, i had the same as the one posted above. But seems to be showing the spuds ?

buzzcfc reacted to Snedger in Lille v Chelsea (CL) Wed 2nd Oct 20:00 GMTNot at all convinced by our youth prospects then? Bit of a press the reset button and pick all the ageing bit part journey men we’ve often relied on?
We’re not even close to wining the thing no matter who we pick, so why drop the young players who are performing so well? Or was this an attempt at a humorous selection or just a wind up selection? If so, why not Willy in goal?

I have no idea how they missed this. He’s so far off his line.

And James. My concenrs last season that Dave is showing the early signs of the Ivan decline have not gone away. I think James could be big for us.

We made a huge statement tonight, we wont be 25 points behind them this season, we had their number for large parts of the game and on another day would of won comfortably.

buzzcfc reacted to Dixons in Racist fanbase? With respect, you're not being realistic to think racism at football matches can 100% be eradicated. The game had a serious problem with it and to get it down such miniscule levels has been remarkable! In any other walk of life where unaccetable behaviour was rife, getting it down to 0.00522% would be seen as remarkable and job done. Unfortunately, addmitting the job is done would mean some jobs being lost by those who have an interest in keeping it a big issue. The clubs continue to keep an eye open and ban the odd moron, and that's all they can do now.

buzzcfc reacted to chi blue in Chelsea's next manager - evergreen postRelegation, what the hell have some people been smoking? yes we've lost Hazard, to be honest I've already forgotten about him, but this team finished 3rd with a very limited tactical and motivational manager last year, so give Frank some credit he isn't an idiot, we will be around the top six I have no doubt, but if anyone tells me they are aren't excited about Frank coming then maybe they need to support someone else or take up croquet. We got no big signings coming in to get excited about, but Frank coming home and the potential of watching some youngsters mature into the team is exciting enough for me.

buzzcfc reacted to Liam in Chelsea's next manager - evergreen postIn fact not one of our regular starters last season was under the age of 50. The criteria I have applied is the age they will be in 2049.

buzzcfc reacted to Jezz in Maurizio Sarri Officially AppointedI could never warm to Sarri, and I think yesterday's press conference validated everything I thought about him. He just didn't seem to fit in with the club for some reason and he always felt disconnected to us.
He was there to simply do a job but he had no emotional investment or attachment to the club and no willingness to embed himself into a proper Chelsea person or at least make the effort to feel like he was truly one of us. I felt that Mourinho and Conte had an instant connection with us when they were here, but I didn't feel this with Sarri.
I appreciate the good work he did in delivering us a Europa League trophy and securing a top 4 spot for us, but unlike most previous managers, I felt a sense of relief that he had departed the club.
I don't hate the man by any means, but there's no fondness either. I feel like he's going to be the sort of manager that won't be remembered in 5 or 10 years time the way we will remember Mourinho, Ancelotti, Robbie and Conte amongst others.
