Made my first final in the Champion's League....and lost

Man City finised 7th in the league, and I'd beaten them 3-0 recently in the league, and they beat me 2-0 in the final. I'm sad.

How much did you get Nastasic for?

He stopped scoring after that run (I knew he would, but it was still disappointing). Has only scored a few more and now it's nearly the end of the season.

24.5 million. City wanted around 50, but I managed to unsettle him somehow and he was transfer listed by request. Could have got him cheaper probably if I had waited, but didn't want to take the chance.

It'll be worth it. I just got lucky getting him for 6.5mil. I offered them nearly 30mil the season before and they weren't selling.

He finished this season for me with a 7.80 rating, and won player of the year I think.

Welcome to the club!

I'm in a bloody rut, I don't recall ever losing three Champions League finals back-to-back before.

My Juan Mata plan didn't work, he's still pulling all the strings at the Bernabeu and Real won't settle for anything less than his 138,000,000 release clause. They were willing to sell another player, however...

What can I say, I'm desperate!

I decided to sell Baines and Schweinsteiger, it was time to move on.

My other signings were regens, this chap looks set to blossom and become the next Beckenbauer.

He's a real scorcher... see what I did there?

My squad for the season ahead.

You tell him, son!

How's this for dominance?

I sold Jedvaj to Arsenal for 28mil + 50% of next sale. He was never going to usurp Zouma and Nastasic

My 15 yo regen striker has managed to get a starting spot outperforming Lewandowski and Lukaku.

Also, I have just signed Vidal for 30m (had declined a bit). Should make a better partner for Oscar than the disappointing Pogba.

I went out and bought Fred over from Brazil for about 6 million. It upset Torres but who gives a sh*t. If Nando was scoring more then i wouldnt have gone for another striker. I think i will look to move Torres on in the summer. I need to bring the wages down anyway. Frank and JT have refused to sign new deals so it looks like they will be gone in the summer also.

Do I see Charly Musonda in the Bayern line up there?

Since everyone seems to have signed Luke Shaw, how is he doing for you guys?

My worst signing so far.. poor performances, hasn't developed and is down to 3 stars potential.

Been trying to buy Charly Musonda for Genk, but Chelsea won't budge. To be fair they sold me Omeuro and T.Hazard for a combined £4 million and loaned Wallace to be me. My unofficial feeder team.

Tough second season. Knocked out by Barca in the CL 6-2 on aggregate, clinging onto top in the league with poor form and a tough run in. Luckily, the team caught fire at just the right time beating City, Liverpool and Southampton in a row. Needed one more win to pick up the title..

That is about the most enjoyment I've got out of the game.

And thanks to the people who bigged up Lukaku, which was the only reason I kept him when Milan bid 30m. He was unstoppable in the second half of the season (15 in 10).

Started a lower league challenge cause I was getting fed up of Chelsea.

Created my local club in the Editor. Gave myself some funds to get the club started. Predicted to get relegated cause of our sh*tty reputation and lack of quality. Heres how things look at the moment.

Absolutely smashing it with this tactic.

The key attribute in Lower League management is Pace so I've gone for pacey wingers (13+) and a tall target man (6'4) for more direct play to give me options.

I'm playing a short passing game because I want to accentuate the fact that my 3 man midfield will dominate all the 4-4-2s in the lower leagues so I've set us to narrow as well.

Right, so much to report.

My second Bohs season went swimmingly, we had a fantastic run in the Europa League and managed to get the books well and truly back in the black.

iYVPo81eO06ow.PNG

I didn't expect to beat Red Star Belgrade but we pulled it off, we then beat a Romanian side in a tight encounter. Liverpool was always going to be a bridge too far but 30,000+ scousers were kind enough to come over to Dublin and pack the Aviva, giving us a huge injection of capital.

Domestically we managed to win the EA Sports Cup, a highlight was beating Shamrock Rovers in the semis.

ibtrvcYi4T6Ti9.PNG

We also managed to defend our FAI Cup title.

injp9jwlVixKW.PNG

Finally, and most impressively, me managed to overcome all the odds and confound the pundits by marching our way to the league title.

A treble wrapped up, Bohs dragged to the top of Irish football in just two seasons. Job done!

With nothing left to accomplish in Ireland I started looking for my next job. My contract was up at the end of December, the board were desperate to keep me but I rebuffed their overtures.

I tried to get my foot in the door at the managerless League 1 clubs but didn't have any luck. Bristol City considered me for a role (at least they're not laughing me off any more!) but opted for a candidate with a better reputation. I applied for the post at the relegation-bound Hamilton Accies but was again turned away. Was my work in Ireland all for nothing, would I be floundering for months in the football wilderness, pining for the rough and tumble world of lower league management?

An impasse, then. Not good enough for a job in League 1, not good enough for a job in Scotland, not interested in another season in Ireland. I was going to have to lower my standards, get off my high horse and dive back into the lowest tier of the Football League.

I was delighted to discover that a certain League 2 club was on the hunt for a manager after the previous incumbent had decided to jump ship rather bizarrely for the heady heights of Chesterfield, who were a couple of places back in the league. Go figure.

I popped my name down, stifled a chuckle when the Bohs board pleaded with me to stay in the press, and headed over to London for an interview...

Yes please! Just a few little adjustments to give me better job security...

What a fantastic opportunity! I had to promise more than the board wanted expectation wise to get myself to the top of their shortlist but it was more than worth it.

The club has moved back to Wimbledon and are the proud owners of a new 11,000 seater Plough Lane, built in 2017. The perfect springboard up the leagues!

The books are in tip top shape, monthly debt repayments are modest and there is a solid half a million tucked away.

We're poised for a promotion challenge already, with a few good loans and frees in January we should be able to push for a playoff spot. Cambridge, we're coming to get you!

Fantastic stuff this.

Keep it up. Very enjoyable to read.

Really enjoying this Lower League save at the moment.

I find tactical choices make a much bigger impact at the lower levels. Rewarding to be able to isolate bad players and see your tactics work wonders. Just poached Bishops Stortford ass man and they've gone on to lose four in a row. Concord Rangers outscoring everyone. Got a big 2nd vs 1st game coming up soon.

Decided to sell my goalkeeper, Liverpool, Everton and Forest were interested and Liverpool ended up coming in with the biggest bid at 200k. I replaced him with former NI U-21 player Joe McGovern, he's more or less on par with the chap I sold.

My biggest acquisition was a bit of a coup...

iznqOuSeiGWcs.PNG

Had to offer the world for him to join but it will be worth it. A great captain in the medium term as well.

My first 24 matches as Wimbledon manager, a shed load of draws but a good enough run to push us up into a playoff spot.

I think you all know who I'd love to face at Wembley...

Just signed John Terry up as u21's manager and Eidur and RdM as u18's coaches. Lamps is back on a free for the 2nd time. Waiting for him and Drogba to retire so I can add them also to my backroom.

I've been a busy bee in the market, a massive squad overhaul was needed and we've netted some good looking players.

i5oQAu70TgnJN.PNG

Hopefully this campaign will be a bit better than my last in League 1...

iqBR0A2DNDjoN.PNG

I'm going with a Christmas tree formation, we'll look to pack the middle of the park and dictate matches.

iq6jhmfEDWTVI.PNG

Just sold Pogba for 35m. Vidal as expected is doing much better than him. Managed to put in a clause too so if he scores 10 goals, I'll get 10m more.

Soon the PSG team will be full of ex Chelsea players. Already sold them Cech, Azpi, Luiz, Mikel and now Pogba. He'll only move in January so I've put him on some finishing training.

Courtois has been a real disappointment for me...I'm going to sell him when my 5 star potential regen hits 3 star ability (which is what Courtois is at now...his max).

Marin and Moses are the big surprises for me. They both have played well for me.

I cant get any other formation other than 4-2-3-1 to work. Most annoying as i want to play with two strikers.

Oh that reminds me, Ba is by far my best striker.

Into the final of the CL! Had Barca in the semis, lost the first leg, at home 1-0 after dominating, so didn't hold much hope of progressing, only to win 4-0 at Camp Nou

Crap, United is my opposition...I often struggle against them. I'm battling them for the league at the moment. 2 games left, 3 points ahead.

92nd minute (2 minutes of stoppage time), cuts to the pitch, I'm thinking it's the standard full time shot...they score. 1-1. They score in extra time, I equalise. 114th minute 3-2 down.

Zero minutes away from my first CL win.
