The geyser looks a bit like Frank Macavenny, the tartan twat who played for wet spam. He hair got longer than that and was at least 3 different colours- it used to bounce around a bit too- he looked like a flipping lion. Talking of clobber, anyone remember those chelsea jumpers you could get from the club shop- if you could call it that- circa 81? Navy blue v- neck with a pucka embroided badge. Got into the diamond pringle thing slightly late but picked up a blinder- green, black and grey it was. Wore it to Barnsley away on me 17th birthday, November 82. I sometime lie awake at night wondering whatever happened to that jumper

I remember a sleeveless jumber with an embroidered crest, but I think that was from one of the unofficial shops along Fulham Road.

Back on topic. Hooligans then and now:

Oh and Webbie, Spikey haired bloke from Catford, often wore a sheepskin? Very similar to the one I used to wear, which doesn't exactly help.

I used to know a short arsed-Donald from back then. He was from Islington though, originally Arsenal, sometime during the mid-seventies I was told that he was running with Cockney Reds. Talking about this to a West Ham fan I know from Mile End, who pretty much confirmed it.

Can't say whether this was your Donald. Afro hair style but very pale skinned? As far as I know he only ever lived around North London. Despite being Arsenal, he'd also show up at Tottenham home games. He once grassed me up as Chelsea after a night match at White Hart Lane - I forget the year, but it was so foggy, I thought the game had been called off. I'd gone straight from work and never managed to find our mob, assuming we actually had one. After the match, with literally hundreds of the f**kers behind me, one of them kicked me up the arse. "You're Chelsea". he spat. And this was the one time in my life I ever denied being Chelsea. "Not me", I told him, You ask Donkin, I know him from Orient. "You know Donkin?" Said the y*d. When I nodded, he told me, "go on f**k off.".

Another time, me and a couple of  my mates were going down the stairs at Euston, when we ran into maybe twenty or thirty Arsenal. As it happens, I had a Leeds woollen hat that I'd nicked on the way home from the previous away game. Naturally they were curious about the hat, so I told them the truth. I don't think Donald was among that lot, but they were his mates, and fortunately a couple of them recognised me, including those black twins whose names I never knew. "you know Donald, don't you?" one of them said, and that was it, no problem.

This West Ham bloke I mentioned above described Donald as "a right little snake". Not entirely untrue, it has to be said.

I'm from Catford can't remember anyone called Donald as said there was a Donald I knew from North London bit of a floater amongst the London mobs there was quite a few people like him about in the 70s normally up west on a Saturday night or cup final day.

There used to be few of us from Catford/Lewisham area who went back them

Talking of getting kicked up the arse at spurs, I took a boot up the dung funnel from one of our own- Black W- Was hanging around the Park Lane waiting for a mate when he came up to me asked me if I was alright, then proceeded to kick me up the bourneville bypass- didn't recognise me and thought I was scouting for the opposition. Cheers for that Will. Ps we did have a laugh about it some time later so no grudges

I remember one night up West, I think it might have been after Wolves v Man City, I was with a few of the Catford lot having the craic, which included nicking plastic copper's bonnets from some tourist shop and.doing the traffic cop bit. Sounds a bit daft now, but at the time it seemed f**king hilarious.

That's the guy!. God know's why i thought he was from Catford, must be the brain cells misting!. Met him at a testimonial at Southend in 73 or 74. He was with us that night. Same game Bab's got nicked after we went into the Southend end to say 'hello'.

Donald is a gooner hanged about with lofty and spiros and George the Greek ... Always needed our help

Those were the days Kings Cross St Pancras west End

Sheepskins... Reminds me of Shane... Bless him.... Proper Chelsea

Looks like the seafront at Brighton to me?

I remember when I first moved to Brighton in 1981 there were a few bank holidays clashes between skin head mods etc

Do vaguely remember a Webby, man with a sheepskin that a horse took a liking to and chewed at Sheff Wed FA cup away game around 1973?

hi im sure he was a walton boy.

What's the uniform these days chaps?

I think the stone Island days are behind us now.

Old habits die hard. I've still got my Sheepskin, a couple of Harringtons (brought in the last 5 years), a couple of Leather coats, Levi's and Royals (Dinosaur!).

But tomorrow it will be 3/4 length Leather coat, thermal socks, and a Cap to keep my thinning 'barnet' warm!.

I saw a cracking retro Fila navy blue tracksuit top recently just like the type my old dear wouldn't get me back in 1985.

My wife took one look at it and laughed.

I'm in the huff :blush2::biggrin:

I see a lot of people wearing the old white nike trainers again all we need now is to bring back the lois jeans to go with them ,ahh happy days
