April 23, 201610 yr [quote name="SW6 Chelsea" post="1171600" timestamp="1461241189 - I always thought the Durrell Arms on the Fulham Road was their pub but a few months ago I watched an away game there and the place was packed with Chelsea fans. . The Durrell was pretty much split between Chelsea and Fulham fans in the early 80s. Used to drink in there regularly and played pool there a lot, they had 3 tables. The chaps who drank in there even sorted a strippergram in there for my 21st birthday. Those were the days. No issues between the guys as everyone went to the same schools years before. Not been in there for 20 years, imagine it's all yuppified now? Edited April 23, 201610 yr by Shug
April 24, 201610 yr I saw two Blues on my journeys friday walking close to my home.....I screeched out across the road...3 points against the spuds...Be there.................Man looked blankly over and his female partner , walking several paces behind him gave me a smile...............................Perhaps i scared them....Oh the joys of being a Blue nowadays

April 24, 201610 yr if you talk to people in their 70s and 80s there was a tradition to go to Chelsea one week and Fulham when we were away. Don't know when this started decline, possibly when people started to travel away. Think late 60s/early 70s was when this started to decline. Wasn't around then but I've always seen those years as a turning point for football culture in England. With the expansion of motorways and football specials away fans started to travel. And if you only ever saw one team home and away, rivalries started to become more heated.
April 26, 201610 yr I'm in York and we have an official supporters club. We used to have a pub in town where we watched the matches which was decked out in CFC but we've moved now to the local sports bar which is bigger and does better food! There was a great boozer in Middlewich, near Manchester, that the MK coach used to stop at on the way to north west aways. Run by a Chelsea supporter and decked out in the Royal Blue.

May 11, 201610 yr Not from the area but live in Uxbridge now which is mixed on the whole but us and arse are well represented, just down the road in West Drayton it is full on Chels, not too hard to travel from there into Paddington on the overground then jump on the district.... Quite a few of us around Northolt still but as mentioned Greenford, Hayes & Hanwell are qpr...All the nice places eh?!?!?
May 16, 201610 yr RichardP post of 28th April showing our League results and final position back in 1980/81 should show that back then we would have loved 10th in Division One. Puts it for me into context in my time following Chelsea. Not saying that in any way, that this season was anything other than very disappointing indeed. Edited May 16, 201610 yr by erskblue
