  1. I was in the away end Saturday and it wasn't a 'small minority' singing the song - it was very loud. I personally don't have a problem with the song but if the club and Morata make it clear they don't want it sung then that's fine. What I have a problem with is the idea that people might get banned for it - fans will naturally self-censor after what Morata and the club said. I can guarantee you that if it gets started at another away there'll be loads of people shushing and trying to sing something over it, and the song will die and a new one will take its place. You can't ban thousands of people - and what about anyone singing 'Barcelona, Real Madrid, Tottenham are a load of y*ds'? What about 'there's no bacon at the Lane' while we're at it? I think we're all sensible enough to know that thousands of people in that away end are not anti-Semites. The point is they've successfully nipped it in the bud by condemning it - no need to ban an arbitrary handful of unlucky people out of 3,300. It's a complete overreaction. Say you don't want it sung - and yes, this will always be a tricky issue while Tottenham still call themselves y*ds, and move on. Up the Chels.
  2. Ten years of service. Won everything there is to win. Colossal on so many big European nights. The man deserves great respect - good luck, and thanks for everything John.
  3. If Oscar goes to China at the age of just 25 - when he should be right at his peak - it will confirm what lots of us thought about him. A talented player, but lacking the drive to translate that into becoming a consistent top-level performer. He just never had that ability to control a game. We could do some serious business with this £60 million (Sanchez, Verratti, Nainggolan anyone?). Thanks for the service anyway, 203 games and 38 goals is a significant contribution.
  4. Snap their hand off.
  5. Brilliant news - will it 200 appearances tomorrow, assuming he plays. Mr Reliable, fits perfectly into our system - I can see him breaking into our top 10 highest appearance makers by the time he finally leaves.
  6. Also there's a pretty good chance the FA Cup match will reach general sale.
  7. You have to have posted a certain number of times - it's to stop touts selling tickets on here.
  8. Potentially useful as a back up to Alonso, but it's hardly encouraging how few minutes he got at Watford.
  9. Leeds, Charlton (if they get past MK), Rochdale, Port Vale, Millwall Carlisle or Blackpool away please. Failing that let's have Barrow at home.
  10. Leeds, Sheffield United, Charlton - and having Millwall up for a couple of years again would be fun too.
  11. Convinced they only exist to make us laugh
  12. What a brilliant post
  13. Hazard will be fine I think - according to Martinez it was 'just a knock on the calf'.
  14. One of those who died in the terrible tram crash was Chelsea fan Robert Huxley, 63. From the Evening Standard: ' Robert Huxley, 63, from New Addington, died on Wednesday as he made his way to work when the carriages flipped over as the tram turned around a sharp bend at around 6.10am near Sandilands stop. He was among seven victims in the tragedy in which six men and one woman lost their lives as the tram travelled from New Addington to Wimbledon. On Sunday, his family released a statement via police in which Mr Huxley was described as a “larger than life character”. Relatives said: “Early on Wednesday morning, over three days ago, Bob left his home for work and travelled by tram up to east Croydon, a journey he has made a thousand times, sadly and tragically he did not return. “As you can appreciate for his loved ones it’s been a difficult and uncertain time, the confirmation of his death only came late this afternoon (Saturday). “Bob was a larger than life character and very hardworking. A loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, brother, uncle and dear friend to many. “He was also a lifelong Chelsea supporter and a season ticket holder. “This tragedy will have far reaching consequences and impact many people for a significant time. We are all heartbroken.” May he rest in peace.
  15. Really not confident about tomorrow. Partly fear we've lost the momentum from the United win after Wednesday night, but mainly because I really, really rate Southampton. From what I've seen of them this year I don't think it's impossible that they get top 4. A draw here is not a bad result.
  16. You just knew he'd do f**k all tonight.
  17. Why make all them changes? Can't the players play three games in a week once a month? Stuff the second string players, I care more about winning things than keeping them happy.
  18. Think I'll drink around Liverpool St, only three stops from there. Though Tower Hill isn't that bad - just hop across platforms at Mile End, probably quicker than when they were at UP.
  19. Hazard, comfortably - and that's saying something given everyone played well.
  20. I'm no fan of Courtois but Cech's really not been great for Arsenal.
  21. This pretty much sums it up - I wonder if that bumper contract has gone to his head a bit. He doesn't seem as hungry as you'd expect a young player to be. Chalobah was always asking for the ball and looking to play neat, positive passes.
  22. Interested to know what people watching on the TV thought, but I thought Chalobah was very impressive when he came on. Looked confident on the ball, used it simply and well and is more physical than he looks. Contrast that to Loftus-Cheek - the game seemed to pass him by.
