Losing with 8 changes should do nothing to player moral or momentum.....under normal conditions, but we arent under normal conditions I worry about the mental frailty of our squad, it's just made this game all the more important, my blood pressure can't take this slipping in and out of crisis, we built up good momentum 3 clean sheets a big win against Jose, the cup was a bad game to lose against the pikeys for so many reasons, should have fielded a stronger team.

Team should pick itself: Courtois, Azpi, Luiz, Cahill, Moses, Alonso, Kante, Matic, Hazard, Pedro, Costa.

Big game. Three points would be massive.

Every time we come here, we receive a bad referee. It's to obvious too cut us in a derby match, so going away for a tough game, but no a derby, is a great opportunity for FA. It's going to be a miracle if we get 3 points.

Important game for us, Southampton are a strong side in the premier league. With the way we played against United and Leicester we should only worry how to repeat that performance, result would be the same.

I'd like to see this starting line:

--------------------------- Courtois -----------------------------

------- Azpilicueta ----- David Luiz ---- Cahill ---------------

Moses ----------- Kante ---------- Matic ----------- Marcos Alonso

--------------------- Pedro ------------ Hazard ------------------------

------------------------- Diego Costa ---------------------------

I really hope to see a performance like against Manchester United, we were so good. COME ON CHELS!!!!!!

having home advantage helped in the leicester and utd games though. our first away game on wednesday since vs west ham and we lost. i am never confident going away as we do tend to struggle without the home comfort. i can't even predict a result, just hoping for the 3 points.

Well in the league we've gone 2-0, then 3-0, then 4-0, so with the natural progression we should be winning 5-0. Won't happen, but I can see a tough game but us edging it out in the second half. 2-0 Chelsea, Luiz and Costa to score

I like the 3-4-3 but like the pikeys Southampton have some decent wingers to press high and expose the space behind the wingbacks (for me Boufal and Redmond are just as good if not better than Lingaard/Rashford/Valencia). Can't see us winning but reckon they'll be a few goals so will go for a score draw, 2-2.

Southampton certainly have options who will be a threat from wide (Redmond, Tadic, Boufal) but they've generally been playing a diamond this season. I'd be more concerned about getting overrun centrally.

That said, we can be thankful that their starting full-backs are both injured; they're currently playing Matt Targett (who I don't rate)'s understudy and that bloke who scored that screamer against Arsenal.

The crystal ball is here again for the trip to Southampton. Here are the predictions:

Chelsea (3-4-3): Begovi?; Luiz, Terry (c), Azpilicueta; Aina, Kanté, Chalobah, Pedro; Hazard, Batshuayi, Willian
Subs: Eduardo, Zouma, Mikel, Oscar, Moses, Costa, Solanke

Prediction: Southampton 0-1 Chelsea (Willian)

No Courtois, Cahill, Moses, Alonso or Costa, yet we grind out another 1-0 win. We have now kept seven clean sheets in a row in crystal ball land. Anyway, let's hope the prediction (score-wise) is right or thereabouts. Three points, please.

Interesting quote from Nathan Redmond:

“He [Puel] made it clear he wasn’t going to play with wide players,” said Redmond, about his new role up front, “but he also made it clear that he’d watched me before and seen me play, so he knew I had the potential to play up front … it was either adapt and learn or sit on the sidelines.”

Yawn

Can't see the West Ham result having much of an effect, our best performers this season bar Kante were absent for the majority of the match.

Same team as against Man Utd for me too - nobody did enough on Wednesday to justify breaking into the XI.

We're better on paper, our midfield duo has put in the work of three players in the league since switching to 3-4-3, Costa and Hazard are looking as sharp as they ever have in a Chelsea shirt, while Pedro and Moses have been superb in their last few matches.

Confident we'll win this.

Most teams get bad refs week in week out...

And the home comfort in this fixture last season was Begovic in goal against Mane & Pelle at one end and Falcao upfront at the other.  Image result for smiley chelsea

The leauge is so competitive right now goonies done the job, Sunderland equalize 1-1 in the 65th minute, looked like we might get a result if Sunderland could hold on...then concede 3 goals in 6 minutes ffs, need a win here can't slip away from this group.
