Just been having a read about the above on the Guardian site. They pointed out that it would be the last game of it's type to be played there before the go to their new ground.

 

I think it would be nice to have a final get together of anyone still capable of breaking into a jog to play a Chelsea v Chelsea match to give the old place a good send off, but as the last ever game at the old Bridge.

A lovely idea but it won't happen. We'll be lucky to get a chance to give a proper goodbye to John Terry if he's allowed to leave.

It was treated more like a pre-season game rather than a proper testimonial. Either way, it's been far too long since we had a testimonial game for one of our players. In our most successful era of the club, you would have thought we would have had a few more of them by now.

Yep they did obviously wasn't a ten year testimonial just more off a thank you. Pre Roman I was at wises one against bolanga and Clarke's against PSV if memory serves me right
