April 10, 201610 yr wasn't having a dig at playing fringe (youth) players, it was the lack of intensity of the team I was having a pop at...and the senior ones in particular...also think Guus sent out wrong message before the game basically saying he didn't care if unbeaten record goes - it was asking for trouble and he got it with a lame display Yeah I was surprised by the lack of intensity. Even though there may have been nothing to play for in terms of the season, there was plenty to play for: a good first impression to their future coach!!
April 10, 201610 yr Tammy has been rumoured to get first team game time between now and the end of the season, I just hope its sooner rather than later, he does look like a hot prospect. I really hope we do give him a chance in one of the remaining games, (it won't be more than that though due to youth and u21 commitments), he is far from the finished article but makes the runs that worry defenders, add to that some youthful excuberance. One thing for sure is we will see more effort from him than the two expensive loanees both of whom I'd prefer not see in a Chelsea shirt again.
April 10, 201610 yr Costa is back from suspension next week so can't see Tammy getting more than a brief sub role somewhere - rather that than Falcao and pato getting another pointless run out Edited April 10, 201610 yr by The Brit
April 11, 201610 yr I confess I didn't watch the game, so can't really comment on game play. However looking at highlights and the team we sent out, not surprised at all we lost. We were missing key players in vital positions, and most players were just going through the motion considering the state of our season. I don't think game via game change of the striker after Costa out was a good idea, Traore did well against Stoke in his last start, not sure why he was benched. Pato was no where near ready for 90, to be honest I don't think he will ever be ready. Anyway, bring on the next game, and next season.
April 11, 201610 yr If we had a proper striker then we could've got something, but Pato missed one sitter, one almost sitter and 'handballed' another. Two of those came from exceptionally good balls through from Fabregas too which I don't think he got credit for because the rest of his game was so poor. Ultimately we picked a striker who has barely played and when given gilt-edged opportunities he messed up. Maybe if we'd picked a striker on-form like Traore, it's a different result.
