The site is now a Lidl Superstore.Happily,Scarborough were rebounded as Scarborough Athletic F.C. Society Ltd and are a supporter owned club currently playing in the North East League.

Wednesday at 05:215 days Ravenscraig Stadium in Greenock. Played on it in the early 1980s.Yes, just occasionally we did play on a grass pitch back then!It was the venue for the first official Scotland v England’s women’s international football match in November 1972.

The club moved to their new ground in 2015.They moved literally 200 metres or so west to ‘New Western Park’ (not much thought went into that name!) 😀‘The Bonnie Prince’,Charlie Cooke, played briefly as a teenager for Renfrew Juniors, before signing for Aberdeen.
Saturday at 05:252 days A rare picture of one of the grass pitches in my old home town I played on as a youngster. Rare, because it’s not pouring with rain and the pitch isn’t a sea of mud or almost waterlogged. And, yes, of course we played on it in all three conditions!

My parents got ours two weeks before the game. My grandparents got theirs just in time for the Scotland v England game the previous month!
