On 12th April 1924, Wembley hosted it's first international match.
England v Scotland which was a 1-1 draw. I’m sure there were some old international programmes reprinted in the late 70s or early 80s.  Such as this one shown below.

Great looking programme. Interesting that it's the Lion Rampant rather than the Saltire for Scotland when England has the Cross of St. George.

Boyne:Cheers. To be honest I hadn’t even noticed!

The Berlin Derby,Hertha v Union "Fall Of The Wall" . This took place in the Olympic Stadium, Berlin on 27th Jan 1990, just two months after The Berlin Wall had fallen. A friendly match where an estimated 50,000 supporters from both sides of the former ‘Iron Curtain’ mixed freely. Something unimaginable just a few months before.

Borussia Mönchengladbach vs. Bayern München,1977: Bayern's Uli Hoeness defends the ball from Gladbach's Berti Vogts.

Uli Hoeness and Berti Vogts in 1977; Borussia v Bayern. The domestic West German football rivalry of the 1970s

Between 1969 and 1977, Bayern Munich and Borussia Mönchengladbach shared nine consecutive Bundesliga titles between them, four for Bayern and five for Gladbach. Both clubs didn’t do too badly in European competitions either.

Bayern won 3 European Cups in 1974, 1975 and 1976.

Borussia won the UEFA Cup twice in 1975 and 1979.

Admiral
Frank Worthington in a Leicester City ‘admiral strip’.
Just thinking,if admiral had made our kits back then. I reckon our home top would probably have been similar to this one.

Gerd Muller scoring for Bayern Munich .He scored all of his record 365 Bundesliga goals for Bayern Munich. - imago sportfotodienst

What a great player. His goals per game ratio is incredible. Easily in the list of top strikers in the last sixty years.

Sad that he is now suffering from Alzheimer's Disease.

Scotland v England football programme from April 1939.
A 2-1 win for England with a crowd of 149, 269 !  I know one of my grandfathers was in that crowd. England played the second half in the colours of Queens Park. This was due to the torrential rain in the first half and England having brought no spare kit !

Stan Mortensen scoring a goal for England .

However he made his international debut FOR Wales against England in a 1943 War Time International.

He was picked as England's reserve against Wales at Wembley for that match. However midway through the first half he came out on the field in a red Wales shirt. Powell had fractured his collarbone and English officials agreed to let Mortensen make up the Wales side.
