Ronnie Simpson dives in vain to stop Martin Peters scoring Englands' first goal during the European Nations Cup qualifying decider at Hampden.24th February 1968.

Very, very few gaps on the packed Hampden terraces. This would indicate the true attendance was approximately 150,000, rather than the official one given as 134,461!

Both attendance figures look now astonishing. However, they were the norm for Scotland v England matches of the time at Hampden.

Game off due to the snow. West Germany. January 1963.

Supporters leaving the Wildpark Stadion in Karlsruhe, when the match between KSC and Munich 1860 was called off due to the snowy conditions.

Outside a pub in Manchester. Well done. Half and half scarves are a crime against the laws of decency and sanity. The thought of wearing the colours of another club - with the exception of Rangers - is enough to turn one's stomach.

May be an image of ‎scarf and ‎text that says "‎No HALF HALF& & HALF SCARVES! NO EXCEPTIONS!I PLEASE PLACE THEM ا٧ THE BIN CLEAR CLEAR YOUR CONSCIENCE‎"‎‎

Below: Hampden looks ‘ a‘wee bit busier’ in this picture.

Taken from the traditional Rangers End. Scotland v England on 9th April 1960. 129,193 officially saw it. Add 30,000 for the true attendance. The Police Officer at the bottom left of the picture, certainly had a good view of the match. Nobody I’d imagine, would obstruct his view of the match! 😀

Kevin Keegan standing in a foggy Wembley. The England v Bulgaria Euro 80 Qualifier was postponed 24 hours and was played on Thursday 22nd November 1979.

Keegan had been due to start and to captain the England team. The 24-hour postponement resulted in him missing the match as he had to return to Hamburg. Kevin Reeves making his full England debut, took his place.

Davie Wilson in action for Scotland at Wembley in April 1961. He scored two that day.

Mind you England did score nine!

Scotland v England in April 1960. Officially 129,783 was the crowd packed into Hampden.

Add 20-25,000 for the true attendance. No space whatsoever can be seen on the north terracing!
