Beckenbauer and Muller practising before a game between Scotland and West Germany. Not sure of year but probably early seventies.

Possibly before this game played on 14th November 1973.

I’ve seen the crowd given as both 58,000 and 90,000!😀

I’ve been in both 58,000 and 90,000 crowds at Hampden.

Judging by the footage and photos from the game. It was a 90,000 crowd!

Pele, Franz Beckenbauer and Carlos Alberto for New York Cosmos

Pele speaking to the crowd before a New York Cosmos game.

Great photo. Can't work out who is standing between Der Kaiser and Ali. Bobby Moore wearing a light brown jacket on the far right?

It might be Carlos Alberto. I’ve checked the ‘Cosmos Roster’ for 1977 and Carlos Alberto is No 25.

The second picture was certainly not taken at Zecentral Stadion in Leipzig. The terraces are far too small!

Hampden Park back in the day. Not sure of the year. My paternal grand-father was there for a game between Scotland and England when there was just under 150,000 in the ground. Still the record for an official attendance at a match in the U.K. I say official as it is estimated that there was nearly 200,000 for the 1923 FA Cup Final.
