The packed Hampden terraces watch Scotland v England in 1962. Scotland won 2-0.

Officially 132,431 watched it. Add 20-25,000 for the real attendance.

Hampden Park April 1956 with an official attendance of 132,817. Scotland's Robert Johnstone and Lawrie Reilly (second right) watch England's Duncan Edwards clears the ball in a 1- 1 draw.

A week later 132,840 were in attendance for the Scottish Cup Final.

England v Scotland 6th April 1907. A 1-1 draw. Brief highlights. Scotland are playing in Lord Roseberry colours.

Great footage.

Great video. Interesting that the Scotland goalie is wearing the same colours as the outfield players. Ref decked out in his plus fours.

The big man on England duty

William Foulkes earned international recognition in 1897 when capped against Wales in a 4-0 win.

This was to prove to be his only cap however as he could not dislodge the incumbent ‘keeper Jack Robinson, with many at the FA apparently not pleased with some of Foulkes’s antics.

A report in the Sheffield Daily Telegraph highlighted the problem, stating. “It is a pity that Foulke cannot curb the habit of pulling down the crossbar,” the report stated, “which on Saturday ended in his breaking it in two”.

Jukebox Durie . Shame he went back up north after leaving us . All the way to Tottenham!!

A lot of anger when he went to Spurs especially when he said he wanted to go to Rangers. Eventually a happy ending when he went to Rangers.
