To be honest i thought this one was BS right from the start. It looks so transparent that he has taken his agent's advice to cause a stir in the press and then apologise over it as a blatant ploy to try to get a pay rise off the back of the high profile Kyle Walker move and hike in money. I don't think he ever inteded on going anywhere. He's an England international at the spuds. No chance as a squad player here.
