I’d keep Kenedy, I’ve always had a soft spot for him and he’s a good utility player to have, although I wouldn’t shed any tears if he left. I’d keep Musonda maybe one more year and hope he can make a breakthrough on loan. Other than those two I’d offload the lot.

Shame about Baker I really used to believe he’d make it here.

I see potential in Musonda too though not sure if it will come to fruition.

Less keen on Kenedy as a WB potentially though for me is more an attaching player and don't think he would get a look in.

I had hope for Kenedy as well, definitely showed flashes of brilliance but i haven't heard good things about him at Newcastle.. Musonda I have lost all hope in, he's just had a torrid time no matter where he's gone.

Agree on Baker, was definitely one of the best academy players we produced, but went down the same road as many others where he gets loaned to a useless club that never played him and wasted away

Musonda is one to release ... he's only made 43 appearances on loan in the 5 seasons he's been loaned out  ... and most recently he can't even get games in the Scottish and Dutch leagues ffs (12 appearances in 3 seasons) ...

Time to stop flogging the dead horse ...

Even if you are selling them for a slightly lower value than they are worth I would say do so if that means you can bring in some defenders and maybe a solid keeper.

Chelsea is tied for 3rd in goals scored but tied for 13th in goals conceded.   Based on goal differential they are fairly lucky to be in 4th as it is.

Chelsea looks like it's in good position to compete for a Champions league slot this year, but will they be able to stay there the year following giving up 1.46 goals per game in the PL?  Especially when 4 teams are giving up under 1 goal per game and 2 other teams just slightly more.  38 goals in 37 games for the Wolves and 39 in 37 games for Leicester??

Agree. Need to sell as much deadwood as we have and spend every penny on sorting out the defence from now. We can easily raise enough funds to completely change the backline as well. considering we still haven't even spent the money we got from last year

We got £160m from selling players last year, and only spent £40 on Kova, that leaves £120m from last year alone, with the majority coming from Hazard, we also made some small sales here and there:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019–20_Chelsea_F.C._season

After the spending we've done already this window (83m on Werner and Ziyech) that leaves us with still 40m from the last window, then you add in the Morata/Pasalic/Nathan money so far and we have about 100m to spend from last year. Assuming around 75m is spent Havertz as well we are still 25m in surplus.

Now use that 25m, add it on to the current summer budget (it would have taken a hit though because of Corona), sell a bunch of deadwood players from our books and we are looking at easily enough funds to fix our backline in 1 window.

We have more than enough funds to sign 2-3 players, possibly 4 depending on how much we sell.

Still seems bizarre that we sold Pasalic - we could have used him in midfield last night. The way he's playing for Atalanta this season I'd take him over Barkley any day of the week.

I thought the reason he’s never played for us is because we couldn’t get a work permit for him.

I assumed he had a work permit because Croatia is an EU member state, but you're right he didn't.

"Mario Pasalic was born in Croatia, which is part of the EU, so he should automatically qualify as a worker under the free movement of people, right? Well, not quite. The EU has temporary exceptions in place for new members, and Croatia are the newest members of the European Union, having only been granted membership in 2013. Now, Pasalic was actually born in Germany, and it is possible that he could gain German citizenship and then be granted a British work permit as Germany are founding members of the EU. However, Pasalic has represented Croatia at virtually every youth level, he has won 12 senior caps for his country and he even made their provisional 2018 World Cup squad, so the chances of him switching his citizenship to Germany seems unlikely. As such, for now at least, Pasalic has been denied a British work permit."

That may explain why we will let him go for such a low fee.
