He looks like the perfect fit for a Chelsea no. 9. Given the money we've spunked on "unproven young talent" we should be prepared to try and turn his head this summer. 

Only negative might be that he would know all about Potter!

@Liam What's happened to Irish football over the last decade or so? Ireland seem to have gone from having a cracking golden generation to seemingly not much at all, and with many talented players instead declaring for England or other countries. 

Similar decline to Australia, although our reasons are structural, and our women's team did just poach the girl who will likely go down as Australia's best ever female player...from Ireland

A lot of things SC. Poor infrastructure and poor management at board level is the main one. A lot of our promising players are playing other sports. Contrast that with the success of our rugby team which is brilliantly managed. And we have lost players to other countries and also have not being to "recruit" as successfully as we did in the past. We do have a promising enough squad, with a homegrown manager, and the "football people" are squarely behind the team at the moment. I would be hopeful that we could compete again in the 4 to 5 years.

We'll know more on Monday when France visit. Looking forward to seeing Evan again.
