Anyone watching PSG v City? Bradley Barcola is the one you wait and position yourself to pay big money for. One goal and one assist and the best player on the pitch. With them signing Kvaratskhelia who plays the same position he might be primed for a move.
You want a bargain winger, Rayan Cherki at Lyon is available for £25m. Closest player to Hazard in world football presently.

In a market where Eze & Xavi Simons are available, we signed Joao Pedro.

This again! Sell to who though? The ones currently in our “bomb squad” have little or no interest. Put it this way; Gittens is probably a £25m-£30m player max. At that price a few other team might have been interested. We have baked in a £25m-£30m on what we anticipate his talent might be in 3yrs time. At the £55m price we paid, there was no competition. He was on £50k/w which is around what a top 4 European team will pay for a talent. Problem is we have now bumped this to £100k/w, with zero competition for his services.
If in 2years he is a flop; the starting point for his value decline won’t be £55m but the £25m-£30m which is his true worth. Any buyer won’t come in at £40m. A bigger problem will be the £100k/w wages. That is why we are struggling to move players on. At £100k/w there is a very limited market; probably 4-6 clubs on the continent who won’t be interested in a flop. The English market is where we would most likely find a buyer, but none of the top 6 clubs would buy a player who has flopped with us. The other clubs in the PL that can pay that fee want a sure thing, not a gamble. What you end up with is a player on a ridiculously long 7yr contract with no buyer.

Players like Saka and Salah don’t get benched or need a rest. If he goes there he will be picking up 5-10mins every game, and the odd Cup game. There is also the England/World Cup angle where he will be playing backup to his competition for an England place. If Arsenal & Newcastle are his options, he will opt for Newcastle. He has better chances of getting game time out there

Apparently Spuds are pushing to sign him. I'd be very unhappy if we let them have a free run at Kudus, he's easily more talented than all of the attackers we've signed this window.

He should be starting more games than he is.
If he's not going to get the game time we should send him on loan, worked wonders for Colwill. He needs to be playing at this age.

Why wait till the end of Club World Cup to negotiate a better sponsorship deal? Any savvy partner would want the global exposure. I reckon they are struggling to get anyone to cough up what they want. It will be an easier sell if we had any marquee players or globally marketable players but then kids..
There is also an argument that the football sponsorship market has peaked. Utd currently don’t have a sponsor for their training kit. Spurs haven’t still sold their stadium naming rights, and Juventus recently signed a 10yr Adidas deal for the same amount they were paid for their prior 8yr deal.

If I had the power to enforce a transfer ban on Chelsea this season I would.

We desperately need some new players, but if this is what the board are spending their money on, forget it.

    Absolute f**king circus this is.

You talking about £25 million on Ugochukwu who couldn't keep a regular place in the starting 11 of a destined to be relegated Southampton team? An Ugochukwu who has already been replaced by the new Ugochukwu, Amougou who himself has been replaced by the new Amougou before he has kicked a ball in Essugo?

Is Anselmino the Sarr replacement or is Sarr the Anselmino replacement? Is Paez destined to be the Pedro replacement or is that Quenda. Guess Estavao can replace Gittens when he's past it. Remember Kellyman? Totally worth it to get Chukwuemeka. Was Guiu the understudy to Jackson or is that now Delap or maybe that's Fofana? How much will we make on Washington? Remember Kellyman?
Yeah and don't even get me started on the goalkeepers

Harvey Elliot is the kind of youth player that has actually shown he can impact games and big games unlike a lot of the young players we keep buying and getting linked to.
Not sure we have a position for him as he’s not a proper winger. Could easily have a Palmer like impact if given game time.

I feel sorry for him with Maresca constantly swapping his CB partner, its such a moronic thing to do, its probably the most important partnership on the pitch and needs to be 2 from 3 on the pitch always, build up the relationship and understanding between them. Have we even had 3 games on the trot this season with the same pairing?

    This is bs..

Spending money on another player that do not make the team stronger.

Vertistal striker my ass. Did we learn absolute nothing by signing players like Felix and Nkunku?! Not really strikers, not really wings and not really offensive midfielders - but they can play it all, just worse.

START SPENDING MONEY ON PLAYERS THAT CAN MAKE A CHANGE IN THE STARTING 11!

What you're not taking into account though is that financial growth of the players only really occurs through playing. With a reasonable limit on squad size and the limits around the numbers of loan players both by age, and to Europe there is still only a finite number of instances you can employ your tactic of stockpiling.
Let's say Mbeumo cost 60m, under your contract terms it would amortize at 10m a year. But we would be getting the benefit of an experienced, PL conditioned player for those four years. No real development or waiting and seeing needed. Just improvement from working within the team. Its an intangible value that is often overlooked but very important nevertheless. If we didn't take into account the intangible benefit of usage of our assets nobody would ever buy a car.
At the end of four years we would then be looking to sell a 30 year old for in excess of 20m to make a book value profit and luckily there are still enough clubs in the market that would place a similar value on paying 30m, say, on a proven, marquee 30 year old player and amortise that over 3 or 4 years.
It doesn't fit the BlueCo model because the value added in this deal is the intangible value that the quality of the player brings. In the BlueCo model you describe it remains just horse trading which, whilst potentially profitable overall kills any bond between the fans and the players and therefore the club because it is merely a trading vehicle.
