Friendly vs Feyenoord

Chelsea are back in Europe and Feyenoord are up next, with a more respectable kick off time for us brits (6pm).

Can't wait to see Pizarro in action, I'm gonna for a won for us, say 2-1.

Do you think Pizarro will get a run out tonight??

I saw him play quite a few games for Bayern and he is a real top class player!

I just cant see Sheva (for all his effort) ever making the grade...

...I think in years to come people will look back and laugh at the money the club payed for him!

But Pizarro is at his peak!

If anybody is watching it and has time for some updates it would be much appreciated. I'm particularly interested to see if Pizarro is playing. I've been looking for an excuse to wear my Perus shirt for ages ;)

He's not playing, nor is he on the bench.

I missed the detailed line-up, but this I copied from the official website:

1 Petr Cech

20 Paulo Ferreira

6 Ricardo Carvalho

22 Tal Ben-Haim

2 Glen Johnson

9 Steve Sidwell

12 John Mikel Obi

8 Frank Lampard ©

24 Shaun Wright-Phillips

7 Andriy Shevchenko

10 Joe Cole

Substitutes: 23 Carlo Cudicini, 40 Hilario, 51 Sam Hutchinson, 19 Lassana Diarra, 17 Scott Sinclair, 15 Florent Malouda, 11 Didier Drogba.

20 mins played, Chelsea not very sharp, having trouble keeping possession. Feyenoord find their way to Cech's goal, have had a penalty claim denied (Riccy clattered into someone icon_rolleyes.gif )

Ben Haim just made a good save. Sidwell is giving a few useful passes, Johnson is overlapping Joey a lot on the left, Lampard's corners have improved, but nothing decisive. Sheva works hard.

Makaay just wasted a good chance icon_razz.gif

1-0 to Feyenoord, goal by Kevin Hofland, heading in from a free kick. Defenders just looking, Cech coming out rather hesitantly to the line of the 6-yard box, but stays rooted there icon_sad.gif

HT.

Oh dear, if this is Chelsea's new attacking look I don't like it much.

We only just about started getting into this game after 25 minutes.

Lampard had a great chance....puts it into the stands when it was 6 yards out.

Sheva.........has as gilt iron chance to score and hits the KEEPER, continually slipping and stumbling over the ball.

Glen Johnson....having a mare for me, continually losing passes and his defending has been rash.

And then just when it looked like we are starting to wake up and at least try to put something together we give them a totally free header into the box with Glen (yes him again) standing watching.

I don't even want to think what damage MU could do to us on this showing.

It's pre-season...I must keep telling myself that.

Feyenoord have not really threatened to a great degree but if we give away free headers like that and Johnson and Ferreira continue with their version of defending well they could get another no problem.

Something tells me I'm glad I'm missing this one. icon_confused.gif

Yes.

And yes Sheva has done nothing but fall over or get the ball under his feet.

Remind me how much he cost us again?

Just dire.

Sheva's stumble in the box was a classic though icon_wink.gif
