loz
All the attention is being placed firmly on the Russia match, almost as if the Estonia game is nothing more than a warm up friendly. Yes England are at home, and yes we beat them 3-0 away and thus Estonia are pretty much a team that we should be able to beat without consumate ease however it conerns me that this game seems to be getting negligible attention. I'm not for a second thinking that we may fail to get all three points, as I am certain we will however I think the manner of the win is important in the build up to the Russia game and thus there should be a little more focus on it. The Moos
No game is an easy one. Big teams have lost points to small teams before. England needs to keep their focus on Estonia right now and not walk onto the pitch expecting the three points. But there are alot of experienced players in the side (although I read that JT might miss the game) so they should be able to do this right. I'm a bit worried about Robinson though. With him between the posts anything can happen.

loz
England 3-0 up at half time, goals from SWP, a deflected effort from Rooney set up by a good cross by Joe and the third a 20 yard OG header from an Ashley Cole ball nito the box. England totally dominant although I think the scoreline hides the fact that we have not really looked all that great up front. Two of the goals had a lot of luck about them and apart from that we haven't created many clear cut chances. Very comfortable though. Joe has been clearly the best player on the park so far followed probably by Barry. Gerrard decidedly average with too many misplaced passes (so expect him to get MOTM). According to by totally biased brother Scotland are well worth their 2-1 lead, the Ukraine are dirty hacking gits who have had three booking already and Sheva is luck to still be on the park as he keeps going after people's ankles! Not seen the goals but I hear Sheva's was down to poor defending by Scotland.
JT26CFC
oo wow i didn't think the games would be starting for a couple of hours, my bad. this game should be an easy win, russia i think will be more difficult. watch out for kurzakov. Rooney's going to be ranting about this goal for days now, SAF will probally say he showed "so much class", ronaldo will propose to him, and The Sun will declare him the God of soccer with that goal. sweet waffle
Ashley Cole has gone off with what looks like a serious ankle injury. The game has gone completely flat now. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
JT26CFC
"50 - Substitution: Ashley Cole lands awkwardly on his ankle and looks in some discomfort. England are taking no chances and Phil Neville is on at left-back. " Maybe Wayne Bridge could be comming back
The Moos
The injury to Cashley looked pretty bad and I wonder if he won't be out for awhile now. For us who wants to see Bridgey play that is good news (sounds mean but, hey, it's Ashley we're talking about). However, who will play until Bridgey is back from suspension? For Chelsea I mean. Perhaps Bridge can play against Russia but when Chelsea play against Boro, what then? Essien?
bjd
Fingers crossed for Cashley. I thought Joe had an excellent game and even though he has come in for Lamps you have to say Barry has been a great find for McLaren - i thought he was outstanding today. On that note, I thought Saint Stevie had a shocking game. 3 out of 10 in my book and thats being generous. Watch him get 7 out of 10 in every paper tomorrow. The swedish commentator had him up for MotM Stevie managed to pass the ball to players close by but as soon as he tried some longer passes he screwed up. Should have shot instead of passing Joe too. Might have been 4-0.
Alan
Lampard got booed again. Some people really are idiots. Gerrard puts in poor performances and no one seems to bat an eye lid.
The Moos
Lampard got booed again. Some people really are idiots.Gerrard puts in poor performances and no one seems to bat an eye lid. I turned the TV off so I didn't get to hear the booing. It's really sad that they did it because he didn't deserve it. Admitedly he wasn't great and he did a couple of mistakes. However he came on late when the team had stopped playing (except perhaps Joey) and it's not easy to do lots of good things then. Had he played the entire game things might have been different. But the guy has been injured for awhile and just played his first game back. He can't be back on track this soon.
Alan
Gerrard puts in ineffectual performances for England and nothing is said, clearly its Lampard's fault they cant play together And Rooney goes 3 years without scoring in a competitive international but nobody really bats an eye lid. JT26CFC
because everyone knows that Lampard is better then Gerrard. What i don't get is that last season lampard got, correct me if im wrong, 20 goals...somewhere around there. What did Gerrard get, 8...10 maximum. And Rooney scoring, wow against estonia congrats...you finally a goal after 3 years. macca should try lampard and barry, leave out Gerrard! The Brit
not if you listen to green tw*t and twaddle on radio five...seems like every chelsea player isn't good enough for england...they said joe hasn't done much for england last few years, swp has yet to prove himself, lamps shouldn't be in starting xi...a cole not the same player he was for arse etc...i think jt only escaped cos he was injured...green twat said england only has one world class player, guess who? yes stevie me, who had another poor game yesterday, when does he play well exactly? green twat even dismissed owen's credentials as a world class striker, even though he has 40 goals in 86 games for england
Nibs
One of the Sunday papers had the cheek to have a go at Joe, saying something like all he offered were fancy tricks and being about as useful as a chocolate teapot. C**ts!! They will no doubt shortly be starting their bring back Carlton Palmer campaign
ianwatkins
What really pi**es me off is if Rooney had taken half the touches or ran and beat defenders like Joey did last night, the media would have been saying he is back to his world beating world class best. But if Joey does it, he is show boating, making the wrong decision, cutting in on his right too much and that old chestnut he is giving the ball away too easily. When it comes to deciding who is MOTM it is normally a good indicator what your fellow players say. Apparently the one and only Pele, Messi, Cruff, Best,Eusebio rolled in to one legend that is Stevie G thought Joey was the pick of the England players.
