    • Yes, but he would find himself in an Almunia style situation- one or two mistakes and you're out!

I think he will be number one until Cech returns. One or two mistakes won't see him dropped for Hilario but a series of mistakes may well see it happen. I don't see it happening though. Any mistakes he is likely to make will be down to being massvely short of match practice and the fact he will be playing behind a bak four, half of which he has hardly ever played with. Dropping him after a game or two and bringing in Hilario will only repeat the problem.

Hopefully Cech will be back sooner rather than later - maybe for the Hammers ganme.

sorry- perhaps i was unclear- i meant once Cech returns- he could win the #1 but be constantly at risk of losing it..

Cech is the best keeper in the world, once fit he will reclaim his place, no question. We should be very gratful that we have a qulity back up keeper in Carlo, but this is the reason he is still in the squad.

Carlo is a spectacular keeper- at his best he keeps clean sheets and i think if didn't let in a goal he would keep his place. That is of course, unlikely to happen:>

My sentiments exactly. Much as I love Carlo, Cech is still the better keeper. It would take major howlers for him to lose the number 1 spot once he's fit again.

i thing carlo need to play more games bicose is good keeper

baybe he will do One or two mistakes bicose don't play long time

is very good keeper but don't have lucky sometimes !!

Carlo is a great keeper who could probably take a place in the starting eleven of most teams in the Premier League. But at Chelsea he will always be #2 as long as Cech is here. When Cech is fit he will play.

However, if Carlo now play brilliantly he might get an extra game or so when Cech is back to make sure Cech really is 100% fit and ready for a game. That is unless the game is against a big team, then Cech will play no matter how well Carlo has played so far.

This will be a nice test for the team. Last time Cech was gone we had real troubles. That time JT was out too unless I'm mistaking and we're in the same situation now. Will we fall apart or will we be able to cope this time?

Carlo is a great shot stopper but does tend to cause some uncertainty at the back by not coming to claim the ball as forcefully as he maybe should do.

As for Carlo in for a month, I bet Val would love that 169.gif

actually looking at the fixtures that carlo will be in for, it isn't that bad. It's not like we're versing arsenal or manchester united in that time. Now if he let's a goal in against Derby icon_eek.gif

At least this time we are not living on Hilario, that s a huge improvement compares to last season. The thing with Goal keeper is - you will always remembered for your mistake. There were a number of bad misses against Derby, but he wasn't helped by his defenders either. Given him a string of games, with Carvalho helping him out, he will do his job.

It's an unexpected treat 169.gif

If we get a penalty rewarded against us, at least we can be more confident about Carlo stopping it (I'm pining for a Carlo emoticon here).
