is this the end of our season?

if we lose tonight, our last realistic chance of silverware is the FA cup.

Does that make it a bad season? Are our expectations too high or should we really be up there in CL hopefully able to win it?

With our squad we should always go for at least a double. This has been troublesome season but with our material we should expect silverware.

To win the FA cup we'll have to beat Manu at some stage.

I hope it's the semi really, I couldn't take 2 Wembley defeats in 1 season

Five months ago I would have taken a top 3 finish and a good run in the Domestic Cups, This stage of the CL would have been about my expectation,

That said we have already reached a final and being still in the FA Cup and better placed in the Prem than I would have expected has brought fresh enthusiasm and I am now hoping to go further in the CL and FA Cup while hoping to split the top two in the Prem,

I think we could surprise ourselves if we keep competing long enough to get our best first eleven and system sorted, we just need to play both long enough for the players to know their roles and their team mates better.

If we have a decent run and start to see some improvement, to me the season wont have been a bad one all things considered, whatever movement we do or dont have in the trophy Cabinet.

Well of course our expectations are high. We started the season with a strong squad and a world class manager.

But we all know that anything can happen during a season. Injuries and bad luck can ruin everything.

And the sacking of JM didn't help.

If we don't win anything this season I will of course be disappointed but it might depend on how we finish in the competitions.

We got to the final in the Carling Cup. That's great. Should have won, but 2nd place isn't bad.

If we end up in 4th place in the league (I doubt we'll end lower than that), is knocked out by Barnsley in the FA Cup and is knocked out by Olympiacos tonight I will be very disappointed.

But if we end 2nd in every competition then it wont be too bad (though losing 3 finals will be very hard to take).

So let's wait and see. A season without trophies isn't fun but it might not be the end of the world if we atleast went far and played well.

But as we have Avram Grant I think I will end the season crying and trying to drill a hole in my head to erase my memory icon_rolleyes.gif
