Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck says the club will sit down with Didier Drogba to see if the striker wants to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Drogba has been tipped to leave the Blues over the summer, with Milan confirming he is on their list of transfer targets.

The Ivory Coast ace was sent off in the UEFA Champions League final against Manchester United in midweek, and Buck admits it was a 'silly' red card for the forward to pick up.

But Buck remains hopeful that Drogba will still be in West London next season and is planning to hold talks with the former Marseille man shortly.

''Didier is a superb player generally," Buck told Chelsea TV. "There have been some comments reported to be made by Didier over the last year that maybe he would like to leave Chelsea. On most occasions he has said that he has been misquoted.

"Now that the season is over, we have to sit down with him and see what the story is and what his future is. He is a great player, I hope he stays, but that is a decision the club and Didier will have to make collectively.

"This year he has had some niggling injuries, but we know he can change the course of a game, as he nearly did in Moscow.

"As I have said, he is a superb player, but if you are a world-class player, which he is, you have to avoid the silly red cards, the ones that come about over nothing - and I think Didier will be sorry that he got that red card."

Following Chelsea's failure to win a trophy this season, there have been widespread reports of a mass exodus from Stamford Bridge over the summer.

Buck expects Avram Grant's squad to be trimmed during the off-season, but he is not predicting wholesale changes of the playing staff.

He added: "We decided several months ago that our squad size is a few players too many. It is about 28 now and it should really be 22 plus three goalkeepers.

"So there is going to be some movement just to get the squad down to the size we think is optimum. In terms of other transfers generally, every year we want to tweak the squad a bit, so there will be some changes, but I don't expect there to be massive, wholesale changes."

who do u want?

-Aguero

-Berbatov

-Benzema

-Et'o

-Ibarhimovic

-Amauri

-Luis Fabiano

etc.....

Buy them'all and rotate them. Aguero,Benzema,Berbatov and Eto'o for the league and CL, Anelka,Kalou,Ibrahimovic, Fabiano and Amauri for the domestic cups.

This way we'll do the quadruple and have the PL won by January.

Who cares about the money , let Roman pay for pleasure.

I hope he stays because he's a world class centre forward and when on form, i cant think of anybody better. I can understand the feelings towards him from a lot of fans, it is irritating and it always leaves us open to critisim .

Btw, has anyone seen him since he got sent off? No word from him whatsoever. Not even an apology to the fans, which is something he could at least do!

Time to go, DD!

Really like the look of Benzema. But more realistic will probably be Huntellaar & Villa.

I wouldn't completely rule out Henry either as he has said publicly that he liked playing with Anelka in the National Team. Guardiola has said that he stays at Barca though (unless the price is right ???)

He has got to go, I realy don't want to see him in the blue shirt again.

Why not?

What do you have against him?

I can't stand him, for obvious reasons, but he's scored some great and vital goals for you.

It's quite funny watching other posters on here just throwing names into the pool, because you can afford to.

I'd love Aguero, Huntelaar or Villa at Liverpool icon_wink.gif

its nothing to do with the goals, its his attitude we dont like. unlike you, we dont want diving cheats at our team. i realise your happy with torres and gerrard falling about like drunkern slappers on a saturday night, but weve had enough.

secondly, i doubt you`ll get any of the players you mention. their will be all the big clubs in for all 3 players if they become available, and i dont think youve got the money to be involved in it.

And of course, we are the only set of fans who do that.

Now that is funny.

Actually we are way more spoilt than any other club in world football when it comes to transfers.

Really? I thought we always struggled to get players, especially with the funds available and our non existant wage structure.

I actually don't see what point you're trying to make in response to mine. I was purely stating that we're not the only set of fans to dream up signings, it doesn't matter what funds are available.

Man Utd haven't been spoilt with over priced signings of Ferdinand, Rooney, Carrick, Hardgreaves or anything. I bet they only dream in the £10-£15m bracket range due to the cripling debt the Glazers put them in.

All i saw him do throughout the game in Moscow was "do a Jimmy" throwing his arms up in the air shaking his head.

I am completely fed up of his constant wanting to leave Chelsea rants every 2 mins and not too mention his diving around like he is on ice skates, it's embarassing.

Yeah, Yeah he is a decent player on his day, but if he don't want to be here then he can f**k off, cause i for one have had enough, and i will tell you another thing the amount of other blues that i spoke to in and around the ground after the game that felt the same way was something you had to see for yourself.
