After seeing the official club statement released concerning the Gallas transfer i find myself wondering if this has ever happened or reportedly happened at this level in this country before ?

SOURCE

He went on to threaten that if he was forced to play, or if he was disciplined and financially punished for his breach of the rules, that he could score an own goal or get himself sent off, or make deliberate mistakes.

I cant remember it happening before, and i certainly cant remember a club reporting this happening.

For CFC to come out with this accusation of Gallas threats to purposely let in goals and get booked is a BIG step. It throws down the gauntlet to Gallas and his people, what does he do ?

If he denies the accusations then he MUST take legal action against his former employer, if he does not take any action i guess we can all draw our own conclusions.

The accusations by the club are very serious and must of come lightly, i'm sure the legal team have advised the club before this statement was released.

Billy the balls in your court, maybe you should have gone and kept quiet, you may have come out of it looking better than what you are at the moment.

I'd have to disagree there. Even if he has been wronged, who in their right mind is going to take on Chelsea in a court case with our unlimited resourses?

Might just as well throw his money down the drain.

How do you work that out? Chelsea are paying fines left right and centre so all their resources and unlimited funds have made no difference to whether they win cases. We could probably buy FIFA and the FA with the loose change in Roman's pockets yet we hardly ever win against them. If Gallas is in the right he could easily afford to take us to court over this and look forward to a big pay day. I doubt he will because from past experience of him it's likely to be true IMO.

I was going to start a new poll but it is just an extension of this so maybe we can begin discussions here:

I wonder who is coming out worst off here - Chelsea or Gallas.

Basically, the club, as far as I can tell and I invite suggestions of possible alternative explanations, are trying to appease those Chelsea fans who are disappointed that we have allowed one of our best defenders ever to join one of our fiercest rivals. By painting Gallas to be the bad guy (and I am not even addressing whether this is true or not), the club is trying to give "those" fans a different perspective of Gallas the person.

At the same time, the club is being seen to air their dirty laundry to the public again and this, like it or not, cannot be seen as positive even if it were true.

So, who comes off worse - Chelsea or Gallas. AND, do YOU, as a fan, feel any better about off-loading Willie after hearing this, keeping in mind (a) we don't know if it is true, and (:) the dirty laundry thing?

My personal feeling is that, although disappointed with his sale, I was already prepared to move on, and this "development" hasn't done too much in terms of making me happier, while comments about us once again "lacking class" and "airing our dirty laundry in public" is something I don't like at all.

I'm a little embarassed, to be honest.

Cheers,

Butch

I dont like the way the club have gone public on this either. Afterall its not good for a BIG club to go against 1 player, it's always going to look like were the bully.

But i think Gallas has gone too far with spouting his mouth off and Chelsea have bit back. He got the move he wanted, he even said that.

So why then go on to bad mouth us ? Whats the point ?

After he was sold i was also ready to move on, but to hear a player turn on your club like he has just stinks, sure other players do it, but he has got what he wanted.

If his only reply to this club statement is 'theyre fabricating the truth' then that will not cut the mustard for me now after what he has said since leaving the club.

Hero - Zero !

i think its about time the club started fighting back against the rubbish written about them from various sources. gallas has spent the last 3 or 4 days since the transfer giving out statements slagging jose and the club off. and also slyly having a stab at the fans. i think its only right that we have a right to reply.

was initially going to jup right in there and say that he was guilty as hell, but who knows. I know he has thrown wabblers in the past, even before he came to Chelsea, so I wouldn't put it past him.

However, I hope that the club are right on this one. Gallas is already threatening to come out in the future and explain why he left the club! To me this signifies that this saga will go on for a while yet, and also that there is a part of this story that has yet to be unfolded.

I don't buy this sh*t that kenyon is to blame, he approached gallas with a new contract but it was turned down for he wanted to leave for a new challenge, bollocks!! To me, gallas and his agent have whored themselves out, and I hope we thrash the arse when we next play them

Coincidentally, last seasons best goal was Joe cole against manure...not billys against the yi*s
